Couple of things.
You can't develop a rivalry with a team after one game. Sure the Adrian/Oswego game was heated but so was the LVC game two years ago at the Campus Center and I wouldnt called LVC a rival. Plus the regional difficulties and the fact these two teams will sparsely play more than likely over the course of the next few years (unless they meet in the NCAA's) will make it hard to develop any sort of rivalry.
Second, Tim Hale doesn't make the decisions on the Lakers schedule. That's Gosek's call and he's allowed to schedule whoever he wants as long as it meets the budget etc. Adrian was no different than any other team that has come into Oswego before and gotten into heated altercations with the Lakers.
Fourth, The Elmira/Oswego rivalry dates farther back than just a few years ago.
QUOTE]
1.) I knew I would get flak for saying that Oswego/Adrian is a rivarly. I was just saying that it was a good enough game and a lot of animosity between the teams that one could be born.
2.) I know Eddie makes the schedule for the team (didn't take me long to figure that out), but it makes you wonder if Tim will say something to him or override the decision. Who knows, not to rip on the man too bad, but he always seems to get his way.
3.) I didn't know the history of the games between Oswego and Elmira in 2002 and 2003. However I think the rivalry is a lot stronger and is right behind Platty for our top rivals. I always hate seeing/playing the "Purple and Gold" as they are always tough.
