Re: Oswego 2011 Playoff and Offseason Thread: Hips and Nips or We Don't Win!
Well I really don't know where to start. Boots, Rodrigues, Beckwith, Kelly and Bremner really played well and Muise, Moodie and Titanic were solid, the rest not so much.
Boots was a man without a team when his line was on the ice, Fredonia backed him in a corner and Lags and Fox did nothing to help him out. Fox took a knee in the first period so I will give him a bit of a break on that as he was clearly not 100%.
Moodie, Whitelaw and Rodrigues created a lot of chances offensively and scored Oswego's goal and nearly got the winner in OT when Moodied knocked one out of the air off the post.
Muise and Titanic created some good chances and Muise almost got an OT winner, Mather brought that line down a ton by making some really bad passes and missing a couple of WIDE OPEN chances.
Bremner and Kelly played hard as usual, Singleton played the worst game I have seen him play. He missed a glorious WIDE OPEN net on a rush in the second period after a great piece of work by Rodrigues to get him the puck.
Beckwith was right on the money, the goals were a crap deflection off an Oswego stick on a Power Play and a wide open chance by a red hot Ben Waldman.
Oswego was terrible away from the puck. They were never in good posisition for rebounds, there was almost no fore check and they never tie anyone up in front of the net. Fredonia ties up people when there is a loose puck and they blocked a lot of shots.
Friesen played well but Oswego made him look like a hero with a lot of shots right into him and a bunch of misses on WIDE OPEN chances.
All of the intensity from last week was gone, the unselfishness from last week was gone. They didn't adjust at all to Fredonia's trap and the skated like they were on cat litter. They didn't shoot from the point enough and tried to force it down low too much, pretty much the same story as most of the games this season.
