One City, Four Sports, Pro "Mt. Rushmore"

Re: One City, Four Sports, Pro "Mt. Rushmore"

Thought about doing one for Miami, but there's no notable Panther and there's no notable Marlin.'

For Dallas, I'll say Dirk, Modano, Staubach, Juan Gonzalez?

The Marlin would probably be either Uggla or Stanton.

And I'd go with Pudge Rodriguez over Juan Gonzalez.

Kirby (anything else is absurd)
Herb
Garnett (ditto here)
Bud Grant (The KFAN bobos will probably go with Tarkenton; in realitywe deserve just a pair of uprights)

It was a coin toss. Shatto was my fave as a kid. Last I heard Pinball is still in Toronto and has become a pillar of the community.

According to their website he’s their Executive Vice President.

I’ll take a crack at Seattle:

Frank Foyston (HOFer that played for the Metropolitans)
Lenny Wilkins (though Payton and McMillian could be considered)
Steve Largent (though Wilson will probably take over at some point)
Edgar Martinez (you would think Griffey, and you’re probably right, but this is a Seattle list and they’d take Edgar)

Honorable mention to Sue Bird and Clint Dempsey.

My personal 5-minute Rushmore:

Garnett
Modano
Carter (originally had Moss, but his second go around soured me on him)
Radke

Re: One City, Four Sports, Pro "Mt. Rushmore"

Orr and Brady are no contests... Red Sox and to a lesser extent the Celts are not quite as clear cut.

To me, the Red Sox are very clear cut. The conversation starts and ends with Ted Williams. I'm sorry, but Yastrzemski does not match up with Williams, and no one else can hold a candle to Yaz, let alone Williams.

With the Celtics, you have Russell and Bird, and everyone else is in line behind those two.

Re: One City, Four Sports, Pro "Mt. Rushmore"

Willis Reed over Clyde
Billy Paultz for the Nets
I couldn't decide between Frazier and Reed which is why I wrote "I guess".

If one wants one from each sport covering all teams, I would go with
Ruth
Trottier
Taylor
Frazier (or Reed)

Anyone want to take a stab at Los Angeles?

Right now, I have Gretzky, West, Valenzuela, Dickerson

Sorry about the car. Everyone OK?

I have a headache. The passenger in the car I hit was taken to the hospital; not sure on the severity of her injury. I was cited for causing injury.
