On The Run: Where's Waldo in NY

Surprised this didn't have a thread yet.

Police chasing down leads around Northern NY, but nothing substantial yet from what it sounds like. Obviously they have the DNA match from the cabin, but that's all so far.

The area they're pretty much focusing on is about 45 minutes from where I grew up, and I was snowmobiling in Mountain View just back in February. Pretty crazy stuff to have roots so close to.

I chuckled when the police asked people to check their cottages, cabins and camps. no ****ing way would I go in the woods with those two on the run. maybe with a division of National Guard with me. at least the peanut butter find rules out them being long gone from the area.

And what's worse is that, because of the (un)SAFE Act, they wouldn't have a good way of defending themselves. Thanks a lot, governor homo.

Here's the real problem in the search. Nearly three weeks without a bath, without shaving, without brushing their teeth or other personal hygiene. Wearing the same clothes and underwear as they sleep outside, crawl around in the woods and through abandoned buildings. They're starting to blend in with the locals.

Lolz. The saying does go "If it's from Malone, leave it alone." (Malone being a neighboring town from the current hot zone in the search).

And FraudDUDE, I guarantee you plenty, Heck, most of the people in that area have perfectly legal conventional hunting rifles and shotguns, should the need arise.

The Corrections Officer (from a separate prison) flushed them out of his cabin. It's my understanding that he was armed, just in case.

HP1015, you do know I grew up in that area, yes? I'm well aware of what people have. However, when you end up getting picked off having to reload because homo has a problem with you having a certain number of bullets loaded (even if you're doing it out of plain sight), then it becomes an issue.

Yes, I am aware. And to correct you, just about every gun I know of can only have one bullet/shell loaded at a time. The magazine/cartridge is what you should be mentioning. Sure, nitpicking, but if you're going to go on an Anti-NY/government agenda, get things right.

The rebuttal there is that at least, if the escapees are indeed armed (no proof they are or aren't, although LEO's are proceeding as if they are), then they have the same issue.

And, one could realistically expect that any potential local having a run in and shootout with these guys is more in practice with firing/aiming a weapon, considering they have been locked up for (insert X number of years here).

This is very true. My neighbour where I grew up (a mile down the road) was allowed to hunt on the property, and he didn't miss. Don't forget about the double-barrel shotgun, although I'll give you that I've never heard of an octuple-barrel. ;)

Best to assume they're armed if you don't know, because you wouldn't want the other way around to happen. This is the exact same argument used in rebuttal to the gun control crowd, and is why an overwhelming majority of mass shootings have happened in "gun-free zones".

I think the cops are driving them to Flaggy's house so they can kill three birds with one barrage!
