On The Run: Where's Waldo in NY

Re: On The Run: Where's Waldo in NY

So now Sweat is talking like a parrot. He's at least giving cops details of the escape, and confirmed what I've long suspected, that after Joyce Mitchell failed to show up, he and Matt had no clue what to do. At least it seems like he isn't implicating Gene Palmer, the prison guard who helped transport the frozen meat. Also, he isn't going back to Dannemora because he isn't safe, oh well. Let him loose and let the general population get em.

Why would he talk? There's no benefit in doing so; he's a condemned man either way.

According to Sweat, they practiced their escape.

Duh.

This case has so many allusions to that seemingly improbable escape from Alcatraz in 1962. After they chipped through the walls around their air vents, they made "false walls" with painted vents that allowed them to slip through the holes they made and investigate the rest of the route through the ventilation shafts just long enough to plan the rest of their escape.

They, of course, probably drowned in San Francisco Bay attempting to cross in life rafts made from stitched-together plastic raincoats. And those guys supposedly had no help from insiders.

Sweat has been released from Albany Medical. Being housed at 5 points, down near Ithaca. He'll be in a special housing unit of 150 beds, where he'll get the luxury accommodations of 23 hour solitary confinement in a cell consisting of a bed, writing table, sink, toilet and shower that is controlled by the facility to limit movement.

The cell is attached to the rec area, and meals given to him through a hatch in the door. So it's truly solitary confinement, as he won't be leaving his cell/small rec area.

He'll also be on suicide watch.
