Re: Olympics Part V: The Search for Gold

needed to keep that last pass in the zone!!!

Desperately needed to end that period tied, little worried now. Think they may just run out of time, assuming Canada doesn't come back out and create many more opportunities.

Re: Olympics Part V: The Search for Gold

USA's inability to clear the puck with any regularity is going to hurt them.
I've noticed that too - they are having lots of problems hanging onto the passes near their own blueline. It's led to Canada counterattacks a number of times already.

Re: Olympics Part V: The Search for Gold

You're a little worried now?? Canada has been leading the entire game, playing on home ice, 20 minutes to a gold and the US has given up too many odd man rushes and turnovers. You should be a LOT worried.

Re: Olympics Part V: The Search for Gold

Not a lot of face-off wins, either. Need to light a fire under their arses for the 3rd.

Re: Olympics Part V: The Search for Gold

If the US can lure Canada into playing the body without purpose - which Canada loves to do - the US will win this game.

Good god the US is only down by one. Let's not throw in the towel just yet. Canada has controlled the play for a large chunk of the game and yet are only up by one. Plenty of time left and the US can make adjustments.

Re: Olympics Part V: The Search for Gold

It seemed like Canada started sitting back towards the end of that period. Don't forget that Canada let Slovakia back into the game....

Re: Olympics Part V: The Search for Gold

just to spite Canada I've switched to drinking Banks, another fine Dominion beer.

I noticed the same thing. Perhaps that extra game is starting to be felt in the legs of the canadian skaters?

Re: Olympics Part V: The Search for Gold

I don't think Luongo is looking particularly sharp today - he doesn't seem to be really controlling the puck that well even on perimeter shots. The US needs to get a body in front and not hesitate to fire it at the net.

Re: Olympics Part V: The Search for Gold

NBC? No commercials? Did I just hear that right because that can't be true.

USA is only down 2-1 after 2 periods of solid hockey...I'm not "A LOT" worried, I don't think there is need to be yet. There is still a whole period left. I am only a little worried on how the period ended and if they don't come out, adjust, and play with a lot of passion.

They've had longer breaks than is typical in an NHL schedule, so I can't see that being the issue. They've only had to play back-to-back the one game.
