Re: Ohio State U. ( 2009-2010 )

Yes, it was good to see the team was hungry for the " WIN. " :)

The team earned the win and points. Let's hope they play Saturday nights game just as good and don't come into it thinking EASY WIN.

If we can sweep this weekend we should climb in the CCHA standing. :)

Big win last night but they have to back that effort up with a win tonight. They will pass Lake State tonight with a win if the lakers dont win at msu. Happy to see the PP get going at least for a night.

I was just as happy to see the penalty kill work. I can live with one goal on PK.

Re: Ohio State U. ( 2009-2010 )

A 2 win weekend is always nice. The boys had some jump in their step all weekend. Really put the hammer down Friday night. Credit to BG tonight for coming back but fortunately we survived a 6 on 4 at the end for the win. Top 2 lines really flew around esp Albert, Dalpe and Bishop. Beautiful goal Friday night from Bartkowski and tonight from Dalpe.

Great to see the Power Play heavily contribute. Props to Devin Krough running the point with 2 goals. Hustle award I give to #23 Cory Schneider.

Re: Ohio State U. ( 2009-2010 )

Well the 2nd half got off to a great start. they did what was needed won 2 games now a week out of conf. The schedule the rest of the month will be a challenge with road series at msu and home vs ferris we will see what this team is made of in those series.

They moved up to a 5th place tie with lake st. just 2 points ahead of Mich, ND and UNO. Looking at the league schedule they probably will be in 8th place after next weekend so work will needed to be done to move up. With the point system is this season not impossible to make up ground quickly.

Re: Ohio State U. ( 2009-2010 )

A good weekend for the Bucks. I will definitely take the 6 points! I am a huge fan of Devon Krogh, he is a sniper from the point and has all the confidence in the world. John Albert was skating like a man possessed tonight and it was nice to see some good production from Dalpe.

Re: Ohio State U. ( 2009-2010 )

Devin Krogh is a very smart Freshman D-player. :)

This player knows how to shoot the puck from the blue line and hit the net.

What I noticed when watching him is he will move and adjust his shots so they are on net and he doesn't just shoot into the other teams players. :)

Re: Ohio State U. ( 2009-2010 )

apparently Markell hasn't scared everyone away....

The Camrose Kodiaks are pleased to announce that 17-year-old defenseman Ben Gallacher (Calgary, AB) has committed to attend Ohio State University (Central Collegiate Hockey Association) for the 2011 season. Ben is currently in his second season with the Kodiaks.

“Ben has made huge strides for us this year” says G.M./Coach Boris Rybalka. “He is just beginning to round into shape again after his injury and we look forward to great things from Ben in the second half of the season. We are not surprised that he is on the NHL Central Scouting Bureau’s “Players to Watch” list for the 2010 draft.”

The Kodiaks would like to congratulate Ben and his family. We are extremely proud of Ben and his accomplishments, and look forward to his continued contribution to our program in preparation for what is sure to be a very successful collegiate career with the Ohio State Buckeyes.

Re: Ohio State U. ( 2009-2010 )

Was it just me seeing things or was Bartkowski lining up as a wing last night?

Bartkowski seemed to be handling the puck quite a bit this weekend. It actually looked like he had quite a bit of speed a couple times down the ice! Albert was incredible both games.

That said, I will take the sweep, but BG is not a real good team and we need to play much better than that to get wins the rest of the year. BG seemed like a real small team and they also seemed to tire out near the end of each game.

Here's hoping for some more play like we saw last weekend!!

Re: Ohio State U. ( 2009-2010 )

Congrats OSU on the sweep of my BG Falcons. I wasn't at the game Friday but it sounded like OSU dominated the game. I went to the game Saturday and I was impressed by how much better BG played, we definately made you earn your win. Being married to OSUalum86, and having to listen to his smack all day yesterday I was hoping that we would get the game tied and win in OT. Hopefully the sweep this weekend will give you guys your swagger back and you will get a few more sweeps this season.

Bartkowski played up front on the PP both games, but otherwise played defense. WRT Krough, nice kid, good shot and offensive minded but IMHO not a strong defender (literally and figuratively). Should get better as he gets physically stronger and if they eventually get some defensive coaching (which is sorely lacking currently...)

Re: Ohio State U. ( 2009-2010 )

Hey , I will take the wins. A " SWEEP " is good any time. :)

Now let's get fired up and we better SPANK the USA 18 and under team friday night.

I really thought all my chatter might come back to haunt me. We were fortunate to survive the 6-on-4 at the end of the game. It definitely made things interesting. Now the real fun begins with games against the upper echelon teams in the league like Michigan State and Ferris State. We'll find out in the next few weeks whether this team gets the corner turned or not. No offense BGSU96 (LOL), but sweeping your Falcons doesn't suddenly mean we're back. We'll see what happens in the next month or so. :)

Wait a minute. BGSU96 and osualum86 Scandalous! :)

Quite scandalous, isn't it?!? :D We are a house divided when the Falcons and Buckeyes hook up! Thankfully for me, I usually end up on the winning side of these contests. OTOH, I have been to the BGSU Ice Arena and sat through some BG shellackings of my Buckeyes in past years when BG still had a decent hockey team.

This BG fan hopes he doesn't come back to his alma mater. I want a coach that knows how to win with the talent he has. Maybe he can help some school start their hockey program that way he wont' be expected to win. Better yet, maybe "Pretty Boy" Markell can do shampoo or hair gel commercials since he has the same perfect hair now that he had when he played at BG :D
