Ohio State Buckeyes 2020-2021 ... Unfinished Business

I'm liking how well we're playing so far against Duluth, especially back to back goals for a 3-1 lead and now a sweet shot to make it 4-1 now!

It sure helps when you're able to score 6 goals on just 19 shots...so far late in the 2nd.

7-2 is the Final Score; Wow! Was expecting to win, but not by such a healthy margin.

Congratulations to the Buckeye Players & Coaches. Keep it going tomorrow!

Truly speechless that UMD didn’t follow Ohio state in putting in their senior goalie with 3 minutes left. UMD’s senior goalie Hanna Markel had never played a college game and had been a team player her entire career, just to watch Ohio state give their senior a moment and be discarded by her own coaches. Heartbreaking to watch.

Unbelievable game for the Buckeyes! Totally was not what I was expecting as usually it's a slugfest when we play Duluth and it's anybody's game.
I just hope we saved enough goals to beat Wisconsin tomorrow, the Badgers are no pushovers.

I'm so sorry for her she was denied her one moment she earned for all her hard work and dedication to the team. Inexcusable when the game was clearly out of reach.

Wow, good point. That’s BS.

Funny you say this. I was saying the same thing to my bride during the game. I told her there’s been too many times when the Twins have scored 8+ runs only to get beat 2 to 1 the next day!

Happened to our men's team this weekend against ASU.
Won 8-3 Friday, lost 5-0 Saturday!

Not much I can add to what has already been said! It was an "Ohio State-ment" against a very good Minnesota-Duluth team that has been a thorn in our side in recent years. The Buckeyes opened the scoring on a goal from Emma Maltais. The Bulldogs answered later in the first period on a goal from Katie Davis and the teams went to the first intermission with 1-1 tie. The second period was all Ohio State as the Buckeyes went on a 5-1 tear to go into the second intermission with a 6-2 lead. The Buckeye goals in the second period were scored by Jennifer Gardiner, Gabby Rosenthal, Tatum Skaggs, Emma Maltais, and Liz Schepers. Clara Van Wieren scored the second period goal for the UMD. The only goal of the third period was scored by Ohio State's Tatum Skaggs and that is how it ended, with the Buckeyes winning 7-2. AFter being outshot 9-5 in the first period, the Buckeyes finished the game with a 32-21 edge in shots on goal. Buckeye goaltenders Andrea Braendli and Lynsey Wallace combined to stop 19 of the 21 shots they faced. UMD goaltenders Emma Soderberg and Jojo Chobak combined to stop 25 of the Buckeyes 32 shots on goal. The Buckeyes will move on to face Wisconsin tomorrow in the WCHA Final Faceoff Title Game. The Badgers defeated Minnesota 5-3 in the other semi-final game.

Well that was disappointing! Can't help but wonder how it would have ended if we didn't lose two really good players during the course of the game.
Congrtats to Wisconsin and depending on the seeding maybe we can return the favor in the NCAA Tournament!

Who did you lose? I was listening to the UW audio, so you get a very Badger-centric view of the proceedings.

On a positive note I think I can safely say and with more than a little bit of pride that Ohio State is no longer an underdog program. We can play with the best!

Fixing Fajitas for dinner now but they aren't going to be as good with that bitter taste in my mouth.
Perhaps I should invite Timothy A. over for dinner providing he brings a big bottle of tequila?
