Ohio State Buckeyes 2020-2021 ... Unfinished Business

OK, the word is out on Maltais. She's going to be gone the upcoming season as she's going to Calgary to centralize with the Canadian National team with the hopes of making the Olympic squad.
BUT she plans to return to Ohio State for her final year of eligibility for the 2022-23 season! We'll certainly have a well seasoned veteran by that point.

Looking at Ohio State's upcoming schedule the non conference that I'm looking forward to is the tournament in DC playing St.Lawrence and Penn State!
There's no lost love between OSU and Penn St's mens teams so I hope that carries over to a degree to the womens!

Mrs. 86 and I are planning on heading down to that tournament in Arlington over Thanksgiving weekend. Really looking forward to that!

That's a very attractive tournament. Will have to give that one some serious consideration!

Confidential To Tatum Skaggs: It's not usually my style to say I told you so. But remember I posted that you weren't done playing hockey! Major congratulations; both on Europe & your selection by the Toronto Six.

I gotta 'fess up, I was a little bummed that Tatum announced that she is going to head over to Europe to play. Mrs. 86 and I are vaxxed and were hoping to get up to TO to see her playing for the Toronto Six. OTOH, the European teams really take care of their women's players and I am thrilled that Tatum is going to get a chance to experience that! Shoot, if we had the coin, I would try to get over there to see one of her games! For now, I am just stoked that we will be able to go to games again! We missed that so bad last season, especially Mrs 86. This probably isn't the place to air this, but Mrs 86 deals with depression and anxiety, and even though I am the OSU grad and she is a BGSU grad, she is just as close to the girls as I am, and it just killed her to not be able to go to the games this past season. We are both looking forward to being there in person this coming season!! Even though we are going to be without some players that may have been expected to come back, I think this team is going to have a great season!

Very happy that you and your wife will be back in the stands cheering next year 86. Sports are a great outlet for connection and losing that this past year was certainly hard. I see you have started up the 21/22 thread and I look forward to following over there!

Thanks for the kind words Lindsay! Yeah, when sports are a big part of your life (especially OSU Women's Hockey), and it gets taken away, it leaves a hole there.
