Tough night for the Buckeye Icers. It was sort of a disturbing performance as Bowling Green basically dominated the game until five minutes to go, then we woke up and tied it up in the last five minutes. Cal Heeter kept us in it. BG ended up winning the shootout. Thankfully this goes down as a tie nationally but in the league it sucks leaving the points on the table. This should have been a sweep. Hopefully Coach Oz gets things corrected and we win tomorrow. I guess four out of six points wouldn't be the end of the world. Still, there was a big crowd there tonight, and we have to know by now that with our ranking, we're going to get everyone's best shot. Hopefully this isn't the start of a bad streak.

The BG fans may not like my saying this but I would not put the win so much on BG but rather the loss on our lack of not playing up to our potential and the level of play we've demonstrated in the season's first half. I know the coaches try to impress the one game at a time mentality but with the team having been practicing on Progressive Field and the anticipation I can't help but wonder if their heads were elsewhere coming into Bowling Green. Realistically you couldn't have asked for a better scenerio to start the second half of the season. You couldn't know when the schedule was made that BG would be in last place in the conference but to have one game against Robert Morris and then go against the last place team was just too perfect a schedule for a top team to get back into their rhythm prior to playing the tough part of your schedule. They better pull out all the stops for tomorrows game if they want to keep the respect they've started to earn in the college hockey world.

OH BOY.
We knew this day was coming. Saved by the tie playing a softer team. The BUCKS will have big shoes to fill and will need to prove they are a #2 ranked team come this second half. The tougher part of the schedule will seperate the men from the boys. GO BUCKEYES GO.

Couldn't agree more with your first sentence. Having been at the game, we definitely did not play up to our potential. We better get off the schnide and win tomorrow. We worked too hard in the first half of the season to get to this point to turn around and toss it out the window against inferior teams.

Missed yesterday's game thanks to my now least favorite relatives deciding to visit for the weekend. They are leaving early afternoon - and so am I. Love the 5 PM start time on Sunday.
No, if they had played like the Blue Jackets they would have been leading by two goals with three minutes left to play and then given up three to lose in regulation.

What a disappointing night but not completely unexpected of a young team and a program that has not been in this position for many years..
If anything good comes of it, Oz will use it as a lesson to a young team that nothing is close to being over in the CCHA. Let them learn that they can still finish in the bottom half of the CCHA if they don't come out and play hard every night regardless of the opponent.

Im sure Coach wont let them forget about the performance last night anytime soon. That might be the best thing that could have happened to them. Lets hope for a better performance today and get the 3 points to pad the lead.

I'm sure I'm not telling anyone here anything they don't already know but OSU needs to dominate the game today from faceoff to final horn getting the goals early & often. It's important after last night that they make a statement!

Did anyone else have audio issues with the streaming last night? I ran a hdmi from the computer to the plasma and prior to the game I had audio on the plasma with everything I tried on the computer, MP3, DVD movie but had nothing for the game. Perhaps it requires different settings?

You're not kidding regarding the 'PS'. We had a five-minute major yesterday and did not score at all on it. Today's game is scoreless in the second period. I hope this isn't the start of a scoring slump like we had last year. It's a short drop from the penthouse to the outhouse.

What a disappointment. We didn't seem to be beating them along the boards and the defence was not controling the neutral zone which allowed BG a great transitional game. Seemed the officials went out of their way to hamstring us in the last 2 minutes. Watching the video I don't believe there was any way the refs could have kept sight of the puck under the bodies just prior to BG's goal but no whistle stopping play! And the penalty called on us in overtime was about as weak a call as you can make.

OUCH , another tie/OT shootout loss. Same thing with the powerplay units didn't finish the game today. My hat goes off to Goalie Heeter as I think he kept the game close both nights.
I expect a hard week of practice for the Bucks and a chance to redeem themselfs next weekend. It's a SAD weekend and Hockey Night In Canada , EH.
