What I found most hilarious about the whole Michigan Ohio State football game this year was, it didn't really have a negative effect on us. Never did I think Michigan football would be SO bad that their students would rush the field after beating a 6-5 football team. Sad really.

10-2, 8-0 home record, BCS bowl, beating ohio and notre dame in thrillers. Hey, if that qualifies as "bad", I could get use to this "bad" thing! :D

BH, were you at the 2010 CCHA Tournament Championship Game? There were a few ohio fans there and one threatened to "come up and kick my ***" because I told him to go home as he was walking down the stairs. Not to hijack the thread but it's a dumb (given that could have been anyone) but serious question.

I was there as well but it certainly wasn't me. Besides I delegate those *** kicking tasks to the wife as she's Michigan born & raised so she's much meaner than an Ohio girl. :D

Just curious, why did you tell him to go home in the first place?

That was me and i was actually going to go up to him and shake his hand and say congrats to them because they sure did earn that title but then he said that so i told him off.

Kind of a heat in the moment thing. His team wasn't even in Detroit that weekend and I simply said as he was walking down past me "Yeah go home buckeyes!".

And then he was just yapping some empty threat as I continued on celebrating.

I can understand that but don't really agree it was a wise course of action. I was there too without my team present but it was for the love of the sport which is something we all have in common regardless of our schools. I feel it's normal to take good natured jabs at each other on forum because were rivals and it's supposed to be in good fun but I just wouldn't say something to a complete stranger that could be taken the wrong way. I'd rather have respect for each other rather than hear someone say they're all $&^%!* bas**rds up there!

No need to apologize; that's a fine article and a welcome interruption to the "current discussion." ;)

Poor sportsmanship between the fanbases mars the Ohio State/Michigan Football rivalry; that's just a fact of life. The hockey rivalry has been far less over the line, and it would be great if it stayed that way. When the football nonsense starts to creep in to our sport, some resistance is required. But getting back to actual hockey talk is perhaps the most important part of the response.

They're also today on the NHL Network ticker showing the title of their online story "On Campus: Ohio State is No. 1 first half surprise"! It's great the team is getting such recognition - except by the hometown newspaper. I just don't get why the Dispatch gives so much coverage to the worst team in the NHL but practically nothing to one of the best teams in college hockey this season.

I watched it. The game was alittle sloppy but the BUCKS hung on for the win. Robbert Morris was pumped up playing in the pro arena and was hoping to take down the Buckeyes for bragging rights.

Yeah, the guys had some rust to shake off but still got the job done thanks to penalty calls. I routed streaming through the big plasma and though I doubt the video feed was the 720p they claimed, it was still superior by far to watching a game on ONN.

More than a few. Had some serious defensive lapses but now that we have a game under our belts hope we start getting our rythem and momentum back on track going back into conference play next weekend.
