Ohio State 22-23 Are we Better Than You Think?

Young team last year that was staring down a 2 seed in the tourney and ended up choking on their own dicks and not even making the field. Let's see how they respond to that.

Pretty harsh description. I can't offer a counterpoint as I missed the entire second half of the season being in a coma on a ventilator!

Opened the season with a sweep of Mercyhurst. Onwards and upwards?
I didn't watch it because Flohockey has ripoff fees!

I watched Saturday night and it was sloppy at times. It was nice to see 8 different goal scorers this weekend though. Dobes still gives up to many rebounds he has to clean that up for this team to improve. My biggest question is who is going to pick up the scoring for Georgii? The defense should be pretty soild with Lohrei , McWard( he didnt play on Saturday not sure about Sunday) and CJ. I think this team will finish 4th. The Top 3 in this league are going to be very good and dont know if Ohio State can match the scoring that those 3 have. If they are going to make a run at the tournament they need to get balanced scoring and play defense like they did for much of last year. That collapse last year at the end they really missed Lohrei on the back end and on the PP he was a rock on the PP on the blue line. I am looking forward to watching him and I think this could be his last year.

Sorry to hear you were in a coma last year good to hear from you and hope all is well. See you at the rink soon.

Yeah, it was a double whammy last season. I was fighting cancer and the chemo took down my immune system so when I caught Covid it ravaged me. 5 months of hospitalization and rehab before I could go home. No doctor at The James can explain how I lived but I somehow survived both the cancer and Covid. One of the first things I did when I got home to have a positive outlook was renew my season tickets!

Welcome back, Hockeybuckeye. Too bad neither of us play Miami State this year. Be sure to circle December 16 on your calendar...

3-1 final score tonight which makes us 3-0. Not a bad start so far. It's a shame we let UW get a late goal spoiling the shutout but the win is the main thing!

Very nice comeback in the Saturday rematch.

The Buckeyes carried the play most of the night, yet somehow fell behind 3-0. But there was no panic; they stuck with the plan. That's to the great credit of both the players and coaches. Fortunately there was enough time to come all the back. Thumbs up!

From what I saw of the first half of last season compared to the first two weekends of this season it seems to me the chemistry of the current roster is immensely better than last seasons team.

This weekend will show what we've got.
Playing a 4-0 team on their home ice will be challenging. I'm very happy it can be watched on ESPN+

Pretty even game finishing 0-0 in regulation and OT but the SOG would give you the feeling Ohio State was the better team but this game was a battle of the goaltenders!
When Dobes came out of the net to the side boards and went down I think everybody in the arena peed a little bit.
We escaped with the shootout win but how long will we lose Goose to injury?
Heavy price to pay for what's officially a tie.

Good evenly matched game. OSU had the shot advantage, but not many of them were grade A chances.
Both teams played hard, today should be another good one, expecting more goals.

I thought UConn's goalie was outstanding. As far as grade A chances on OSU's shots I felt shot placement was the main factor. Not to many will make the back of the net when you keep putting them in the goaltender's naval.

Very entertaining game with a 9-2 win, surprised there wasn't a hat trick!
To put it in a nutshell Bentley was simply outmatched and we were without Westlund.
Bentley's first goal came on some sloppy play on our part at the crease and the second was reminiscent of last weekends loss from UConn where we allowed a player unchecked to the far side of the net to play the rebound.
One thing I was curious about is where Bentley's starting goaltender was on their depth chart as he had a plain white helmet and the two goalies on the bench had painted headgear.
