If they cannot beat Wisconsin this weekend, they will have a tough time beating anyone else on the schedule. The only way this season can be salvaged is to get hot, win the BIG Ten Tournament, and get the BIG Ten's auto bid to the NCAA Tournament. That's a tall task, maybe an insurmountable task.

No worries for the Bucks. We are 0-8-2 and 2-18-4 and show no glimmer of hope. Your weekend is safe unless Eaves and Alvarez are fired.
UW defense is the worst of any season I have ever watched (20+ season ticket holder until I moved to OH in 2012).......Rumpel has no help. God help us.

I have watched Wisconsin on TV a few times and think these two teams are pretty similar. Ohio State does not play much defense either and have only scored 5 goals in the last 4 games.

Ohio State will help you out as they are good for at least one five-minute major, seemingly every weekend, so there's that.

UW will most likely have a 5 min major as well. Our D leaves Rumpel vulnerable. Games could be 5-4 or 6-4 outcome. I'll be there Saturday.

We'll be there tomorrow, too. Buckeyes took game one earlier tonight 2-1. There isn't a story on OSU's athletic website yet, so I am not sure who scored the goals other than I think I heard Nick Schilkey had the game-winner. The two teams hook up again tomorrow night.

Very well played game last night to end the 6 game losing streak. They got timely goals from Lundey and Schilkey to get that 2-1 lead. They were better in the defensive zone still some lapses including the Wisconsin goal but for the most part much better last night. Frey was good all night but he was great right after the go ahead goal he made 2 outstanding saves to keep the lead going into the 2nd intermission. They shut the door in the 3rd and the PK even came through with a big kill in the last 3 minutes. Lets get the sweep tonight!

The Badgers are going to put one up in the win column tonight. We are on an 11 game winless streak and you could help by playing Tomkins tonight. I have a lot of respect for CFrey; he is an old Texas Attack alum.

Klbaum1077, do you think Rohlik has lost this team? As much as they lobbied for him to be the head coach, I would think they would be playing better for the guy and trying to get him some wins! There's no excuse for this season to be going the way it is.

I dont think he has lost the team. This team just cant get away from the mistakes that cost them hockey games. Last night 2 of the 3 goals came off stupid turnovers.

I think it might be time to address the real problem. Coaching Steve might have been a really good assistant coach and an extremely nice guy, but he has no business being a head coach of a major hockey program. We deserve better, as a fan its bad hockey to watch, they have no system other then go dump and chase, with no defensive reasonably. In short its 1980’s hockey

I think he deserves another year to fix this mess. Plus Ohio state isnt going to buy out another coach from a non important sport. They are still paying Oz i believe.

What makes you think he can fix this mess? The fact that he was on the staff that created it, or maybe his track record as a head coach, or maybe his record this year? Didn’t we just loose at home to the only winless time in the big ten. More time doesn’t fix losing better coaching does.

Both you and Klbaum1077 bring up good points. I am not sure if Rohlik will be able to fix this mess or not, but I do think he deserves another season or two. I have been critical of Rohlik and the team this season, but I don't want to have a selective memory and forget that last year we were an OT goal away from getting to the NCAA Tournament. I am not sure if Rohlik is the right guy to lead this program and get us to the next level or not, but I doubt if OSU fires him before his contract runs out because, as Klbaum1077 said, they're still paying Osiecki. OTOH, I remain concerned about the culture of losing that is developing with this program, and clearly, the culture in the clubhouse needs to change. If Rohlik can't orchestrate that change, then the athletic department will have some hard decisions to make regarding who to lead this program. If something does happen and Rohlik is not retained after his contract runs out, I sincerely hope Gene Smith and his staff do a better job when it comes to hiring the next OSU Men's Hockey Coach! The only other thing I will say about that is don't take Nate Handrahan! He is doing great things with our Women's Hockey Program and I really like the direction they are headed in.

Not to be a Monday morning QB but I believe we had a 2 goal lead in that game late in the 3rd and gave it up just like we have all this year. So is that coaching or lack of coaching?
You do make one good point Coach Handrahan is doing a much better job. It’s kind of sad that the better coach is coaching the girl’s team, even sadder the better games to watch over last week end where played at the girl’s rink.
