You know, it occurs to me that the Pep Band should designate a special song to celebrate sweeps. I realize that Battle Hymn of the Republic is taken. (MN) Maybe Stars and Stripes Forever? A few thousand of our closest friends waving State of Ohio pinions to the tune of that majestic march would be a pretty cool sight.

Note that our state flag is a pinion because it's a pennant with two points.

It is very nice to come here and talk about a sweep! Like last night it wasnt pretty at times but the job got done. That 3rd period they were just flat out determined to win the hockey game. They came out and took over from the drop of the puck and never took the foot off the gas pedal. Nice to take the season series 3-1 again but you are correct they will have a more important meeting in Detroit. For me the last 2 Weekends are going to be about getting momentum for Detroit.

It's worth noting that the Buckeyes held the Nittany Lions to 27 Shots on Goal Saturday, the lowest Penn State total of the entire season. Nice improvement over Friday, when 49 shots were yielded.

Different topic: Here's to hoping Taylor Holstrom (#28) isn't seriously hurt. He was outstanding all weekend until the time of the injury. Tough to tell exactly what happened. During a scramble in the slot, it looked like he wound up in an awkward stance, just as the collision was occurring.

Did i miss it last year or did the university not honor the 10 year anniversary of the 04 Championbship? I know they were there on Saturday but a football championship never goes by without a 10 year reunion.

You're welcome! Buckeyes take tonight's game 5-2. Don't know how it unfolded because all I have seen is the box score, but it was 2-2 at the second intermission, then the Bucks got three goals in the third period to win 5-2. The Bucks are certainly playing better hockey right now.

The Buckeyes played a really good hockey game tonight. They kept the Gophers to the outside with just a few chances at rebounds. If they could have scored on any of the 4 breakaways they missed this would have been much worse. Maybe we are seeing the team all of us thought we were going to see all along this year. They are getting hot at the right time of the year and when we get to detroit its anyone's game.

Not to worry, we have football to dominate in as our fallback just as you guys had women's softball as your dominate sport when your other teams tanked.

Not bad down here at all. Our Football Team led the nation in attendance and just won a National Title in dominating fashion with a third-string QB. Life is good down here.

OSU vs Wisconsin Viewing Party

Join The Scarlet Liners this Saturday at 7p as the Buckeyes square-off against the Badgers for the final regular season game.

We'll be at Land-Grant Brewing Company, 424 W Town Street, Columbus, 43215 where the OH! Burgers Food Truck will be stationed and Land-Grant will be serving up their hockey inspired Imperial IPA - Misconduct!

The Blue Jackets are off so come out and support the Buckeyes! With March Madness heating up, locations for viewing parties are becoming harder to find so this will more than likely be the last viewing party for OSU hockey we will hold this season.

What a game tonight! Christofoli gets the win for us as the 10th shooter.
Way to go Clark!
I thought at the end we got complacent in not trying to bring the puck up ice for one last rush and it almost cost us the game.

Buckeyes up 1-0 early in the third period in tonight's game. Toward the end of the second period Ohio State caught a break with Wisconsin getting called for a questionable five-minute major, but they did absolutely nothing with it so the score remained 1-0. Tyler Lundey has the Buckeyes goal. Tompkins is in net for Ohio State. Getting back to the five-minute major, the announcers felt like it was one of those plays where the Ohio State player turned his back at the last minute and the Wisconsin player didn't have a chance to pull up. OTOH, I understand the referees decision to error on the side of caution and make the call.

Buckeyes lead the SOG, 30-15, proving that the SOG stat can sometimes be a meaningless stat.

Buckeyes add another goal on a nice tight-angle shot by Matthew Weis that somehow got by Wisconsin goalie Joel Rumpel, who has kept the Badgers in this game with some big saves. Announcers said Wisconsin has 11,000+ at this game today. Not bad for the last-place team in the league. Well, right on cue, we board a guy face-first and hand Wisconsin a power play. Come on guys, think out there!! Stupid play, just stupid.

Buckeyes finish the job by a 2-0 score. Felt good throughout the game about the Buckeyes' chances. Good game overall; especially on the road. Nice to Tompkins get the shutout. 5 of 6 points on the weekend; on to The Joe.

Nice 5 point weekend for the Buckeyes. Very nice to see Tomkins get a shutout last night. Since that sweep at Minnesota the Buckeyes have taken 20 out of 29 possible points. I like the way they are playing going into Detroit. They are only a 3 game win streak away from moving on not going to be easy but it can be done.

They came so close last year but they had a much better team then I thought.
