Baby steps in the right direction. Eh.

...and all it took was a coaching change.Congratulations to the Buckeyes on getting their first win in program history against the "lowly" Chargers.![]()

One final point - these were the types of games that a Markell coached team always seemed to lose (he was 0-2-1 against UAH). Definite progress.
Dude - they don't have a league and are 1-8-1 overall this year. They used to be competitive when Markell coached. I know it's nice to win but "progress"? I think I'll wait and see.
Its still very early but our power play is number one in the league right now, Markell's powerplays the last couple of years have been straight garbage, I think thats a good sign
Hey, Oswego State (D-III) alum and fan just stopping in to say thanks for Ian Boots. He scored the game winning goal with less than two minutes left in Oswego's win over our rival Plattsburgh State. He's got 8 points through 6 games and has already become a fan favorite. I understand he didn't work out for you guys, but he's been working out well for us so far. Thank you Ohio State!
You're welcome. How's he doing on penalties?
The Brooks Bandits are proud to announce 17 year old forward Riley Simpson has committed to play at Ohio State University of the NCAA Division 1. Located in Columbus, Ohio the Buckeyes play in the CCHA and are off to a 4-5-0 start to the 2010 season.
Riley is from Innisfail, Alberta where he grew up playing minor hockey. Prior to joining the Bandits, he spent a season playing Minor Midget AAA in Red Deer. Riley is in his second season with the Bandits and currently leads the team in scoring with 12 goals and 13 assists for 25 points in 22 games.
Head Coach/GM Ryan Papaioannou, "Riley is very deserving of this opportunity. He is a fantastic person with a strong work ethic. It was obvious to us when Riley joined our organization that he was going to be a highly successful player in our League and he has played beyond expectation since he been in Brooks. The Bandits organization would like to congratulate the Simpson family for Riley's achievements both on and off the ice."
I'll stand by my statement. I saw what they looked like against Robt Morris and I drove up to Marquette to watch last week's two losses to Northern Michigan. The team I saw in these two games was better. This was a team OSU should have dominated, and they did. I rarely saw that in the last few years under Markell. So I think that's progress.
He's got 8 PIMs so far this season, but no back breakers by any means.
