Re: Official Video Games Thread VII: The 7th Generation Comes To A Close

I picked up Orcs Must Die and its 2 DLC for $5.35 total. Looked like good mindless orc killing fun, and at the right price point.

I'm in the mid 20's on Skyrim. Just plodding through the Dark Brotherhood quest line.

Steam's killing me right now with their daily deals. Picked up Orcs Must Die yesterday as well, and got Bastion with the mp3 soundtrack for $8 today. Soundtrack alone is worth that from the few tracks I've listened to.

Go buy this right now!

Starting today as part of GOG.Com holiday deals. This deal lasts 48 hrs.

Buy The Witcher 2 for $23.99 and get a copy of The Witcher for free. No DRM on either.

Risk: Factions is available on PS3 for download. If anyone has this and wants to play let me know.

Re: Official Video Games Thread VII: The 7th Generation Comes To A Close

1 hour left on yesterday's Steam daily deal, Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivian for $5.

Re: Official Video Games Thread VII: The 7th Generation Comes To A Close

Just DL'd Risk on the 360. I refuse on principal to play any of the "new" game modes. I love Classic Risk, and that's what I'm going to play. =)

I generally stick to the classic risk, but sometimes I mess around with other maps and modes.

Steam holiday super sale has started. About an hour before the 2nd day of sale starts.

Also the Gift Pile can get you free games. I got Portal 2 for free just for clicking "get started". It was on my wishlist, so I wonder if it randomly picked something from the list.

Each day a new set of objectives to complete to get more free items.

So far I've gotten two lumps of coal and a coupon for 25% off any Valve game (from January 2-sometime in March) - the coupon is tradeable. I probably won't use it, so if anyone wants it let me know and you'll have dibs if I give it up.

Re: Official Video Games Thread VII: The 7th Generation Comes To A Close

I've been playing through Mass Effect again, and I'd forgotten how short the game actually is if you don't count all the side quests and mineral hunting. It's essentially:

Prologue
Explore Big City
Missions 1, 2, and 3, leading to
Teammate Death + Threat Expose (Mission #4)
Return to Big City to go Rouge
Love Scene
Penultimate Battle to find the Last, Best Hope (Mission #5)
Battle the Big Bad
Epilogue

So we've got 5 missions, a big boss fight, and the requisite wander around the city time. You can beat the game in well under 10 hours if you really speed run it. Still fun, but I remember why I liked ME2 that much more.

I picked up Train Simulator 2012 Deluxe Pack for $3.99 this afternoon. Wanted to check out the series for a while but never thought I'd get enough enjoyment out of it to justify full price so I am happy.

so one of the steam gift grab giveaway achievments is trading something to someone...I just got a coupon for 50% off audiosurf (begining January 2), which I already own. Anyone want it? Just need your steam name to add you to my friends list and trade it to you.
