Re: Official Video Games Thread VII: The 7th Generation Comes To A Close

Level 39 now available in Tapped Out. Adds Sanjay's house, Apu's apartment/wife as a premium building, and a couple Krustyland items.

Yesterday I officially bought all the land/sea available in the game. I had started to save for some of the big ticket items, but then the house became available so now I have to delay my plans a bit. The most expensive section is around $130K.

Using that Heyzap app JF Gophers mentioned, I've added a few people from it and there are some amazingly creative layouts for the town. I was really impressed with the thought these guys were using. They must be graphic designers or something else requiring an artistic eye.

JFC. My Tapped Out crashes more than Helen Keller in the Indy 500.

Funny you said that, mine crashed telling me that my account was logged into another device. Other times it just crashes. And I have an iPhone, so it's not an OS issue as the reason. EA needs better QA testing.

Found 70 / 150 pokemon on Google Maps. I dont think ill find them all before April 2nd sadly.

Re: Official Video Games Thread VII: The 7th Generation Comes To A Close

I have managed to save up 127 donuts. What premium items should I get/keep saving toward? I'm thinking either Otto's school bus, the Open Air Stage, or the Channel 6 News Van/Global Broadcast Satellite.

The stage can be good because you get a lot of cash for tasks your characters perform on it. In 4 hours Willie can make more cash than he does with his 8-hr task. The tasks for the stage are a mixed bag of humorous or just a way to build cash. Lisa plays her sax for a 1-hr show, Krusty tells jokes, willie plays the bagpipes. They're all related to things your characters do in the show, but sometimes you need more than one character available to do them. On the other hand, things like the van and satellite, those add to the payout for all of your other tasks.

From what I saw, the news van is one of the best values in the game - 40 donuts gets you a 2% bonus to everything AND unlocks a 4 hour broadcast at Channel 6 that makes as much as the 8 hour broadcast (which is a shiat ton.) Think I'll buy that and Hans Moleman. 60 donuts for a character who makes premium cash and can go to Krustyland - exactly what I would have gotten from Otto.

Don't buy Squeaky Voice Teen - he can be won from a Mystery Box, with actually pretty high odds. Keep getting daily play rewards and eventually you'll get him. (And incidentally, if you get him in a Mystery Box but already have him you get 30 donuts instead.)

The only difference between the 4-hour broadcast and the 8-hour broadcast is 50XP between the jobs, otherwise it's a great deal. I take the 8-hour job overnight, otherwise I'm pretty much running the 12-hour job during the workday.

By daily play rewards, do you mean the daily cash given with the mystery box every 5 days? If so, I've only ever gotten things like gazeebo, trees, fences, etc. from those. I already have the Squeaky Voice Tee, though. The only characters I'm missing are the seasonal or episode promotional ones from before I started playing.

Yeah, that was my only concern. My typical schedule is 8-hour tasks before I go to work, 1-hour tasks after I get home until I'm ready to go to bed, then 8-hour tasks overnight.

Yes, those are the daily play rewards. SVT actually has like a 2% chance of appearing in a Mystery Box.

I ended up getting to 60-something Pokemon. I even found an Eevee next to the Metrodome. :)

Found all 150 before their "deadline" (5pm ET 4/2). :D

Actually found about 130 then got stuck. Reddit got me the rest of the way. Then, after the "deadline," I found out that there was a 151st Pokemon floating around the Amazon somewhere. Wound up using the coordinates others had found him at to catch 'em.

I say "deadline" because that was part of their prank (I presume).

Re: Official Video Games Thread VII: The 7th Generation Comes To A Close

Broke down and fed Andrew Jackson to the EA machine. I am sheep, hear me baa. Eh, they've earned it given how long I've played.

Picked up Otto's bus and Terri and Sherri (150 donuts, they function as 1 character but make 200% more money than normal characters.) Have some donuts left over for decorations as well.

Re: Official Video Games Thread VII: The 7th Generation Comes To A Close

I've done that a few times. There's about a 50% attrition rate after two or three months. I've been constantly distilling my neighbors down until I get to the consistently active players.

Re: Official Video Games Thread VII: The 7th Generation Comes To A Close

I don't really need more friends than the 30ish i have. Tho 100 is the max. Too many friends is a chore, and I only visit them when there is some event or item to obtain. I don't spend 30 min visiting neighbors just for cash. I don't need cash.

Re: Official Video Games Thread VII: The 7th Generation Comes To A Close

I only have the 5 or so from here. Don't really need any more unless I have to have them to boost my Socialism rating (which is slowly climbing anyway, now at 1.5 stars.)
