I wouldn't call TW Golf simple. They are going more towards actual golf sim nowadays. So it might actually be frustrating to play with the Move controller.

Set the sensitivity low enough and it gets fairly easy and simple. Set it up far enough and you'll throw the controller through your TV.

MLB11 or MLB2K11. I read the review for MLB2K11 in Game Informer and it wasn't very complimentary. MLB2K11 got a 6/10, The Show was runner up for Game of the Month. Glad I invested in The Show series instead. The "Sounds of the Show" and Franchise are awesome...I haven't even touched RTTS yet.

Just picked up MLB11 about a week ago. I have a pitcher in AAA and a shortstop in AA. I find pitching to be more fun, but I can't play for that long before my eyes need a break. My least favorite part is throwing the ball, sometimes I can do it perfect for a string, but then I'll have like 3 errors in a row.

Today's XKCD is totally worth reading through to get to the punchline at the end.

Re: Official Video Games Thread VI: Somebody set us up the bomb

3 minutes into the 1 PM deal and its sold out. They must not have had very many copies of KZ3 Collectors Ed.

Re: Official Video Games Thread VI: Somebody set us up the bomb

Since I haven't picked up a Wii version of 2k's baseball since 2k8, would it be worth trying to find a cheap copy of 2k11? I'd like to have (sorta) updated rosters, but it's not something I need to rush out and get.

Unless you all would like to chip in and buy me a "real" gaming system so I could pick up The Show. :p

If you saved $1.00 a day, you could buy a new system in less than a year. :p

not everyone counts video games as basic living expenses like you apparently do...

Besides, that $1/day would be better spent on beer.

Woah now, I never said cut out important things like beer. However the average person probably has an extra $14 per pay period (2-week cycle) to set aside if they wanted to without affecting any of their other expenses.

If you are living at zero sum, you need to spend less or make more! :)

:D But if I wait a year, then the NEW gaming systems will be out. And I'll only have half of what I need for it then. ;)

Re: Official Video Games Thread VI: Somebody set us up the bomb

Saw a couple video reviews for Portal 2.

I WANT.

Re: Official Video Games Thread VI: Somebody set us up the bomb

Played it for about an hour last night. So far, full of win.
Is it full of $50 of win? Seems pretty steep when the first game was a simple puzzle solving that could be done in 5 hours.

Certainly fun, but more of a $20 kind of fun. :) Actually I think I got Portal for free which made it even more fun.

I'd say so. I had some Amazon gift cards to use up, plus Amazon was offering a $20 credit with pre-orders, so it was more like $20 kind of fun for me anyway, but I'd have paid full price. Haven't played through it all, obviously, but apparently it is MUCH grander in scale than the original. Definitely more polished. Plus there is a new multiplayer component that is supposed to be ridiculously good. Valve put some SERIOUS work into this game.

Re: Official Video Games Thread VI: Somebody set us up the bomb

Well, the PlayStation Network is down, and it sounds like it has been down for awhile (didnt try to log on yesterday). Speculation that is may be the so called "hackers" talked about previous pages in the thread.
