Game 1 of a nine game roadie tonight in Vancouver.

Toews back, Sharp up to questionable and Morrison's first game (he didn't play in that last one, did he?).

Love me some late night hockey.

Sharp back in the lineup! Will have to play with the fractured wrist and it may need surgery after the season. Good to have him back though.

Over/under on dives by the sisters?

One of my favorite Burish quotes was when he told one of the sisters that his brother was really ugly. :)

That's a pretty great quote. This Blues fan is happy (but shocked!) about the current slide Chicago's hit, but also being a fan of a lot of your individual players, I'm upset about the injuries. Good to see Kane finally net a goal yesterday. Looking forward to the game on the 19th on NBC!

We need to start playing defense... Yesterday we gave up a stupid amount of odd man rushes... If the Avs can connect on a pass, they win by another 2 goals, easily...

We are also the only team in the NHL not to have recorded a shutout...

The Blues have been building their team the right way and are poised to be good for a long time and who knows, maybe great.

Lots of good young talent. Our division is a murderer's row right now. See you on the 19th!

Oh yeah, and as a Badger fan, I'm happy for Els!

True, but we missed on several great chances too. Our defense is suspect, but timely goals have been few and far between.

Teams go through slumps and hopefully this is temporary.

Heard an interesting rumor from Felger and Mazz on Boston sports talk radio: Apparently Jeremy Roenick thinks the Blackhawks might be willing to trade Patrick Kane for some solid goaltending. Blew me away-the 'Hawks trade Kane?!?!

And of course being a Boston show, they brought up the possibility of the Bruins taking the other end of that deal, and trading Thomas.

Race - some of those same people are over eager to trade part of the core also.

Coach Q just guided us to a Cup less than two freaking years ago! Give him a break. It could take a few years to get all of the pieces back together.

As far as trading the core, people look at it like it's fantasy hockey where we can just trade Kane or Sharp to get a goalie coz, you know, we'll be able to find another Kane in next year's draft. I've been a Hawks fan for almost 30 years now (I know, have a cookie) and I've seen far more top picks fizzle than turn into what Kane is and what he could become.

So trade Kane for a goalie and a chance to win this year? Why do we have to win this year? Why would we trade away years of a core player's prime so that we can take a shot now? Are we an aging team that has one more run in them before rebuilding? No, we're very young and need to hold onto our assets and continue to build around them.

It's amazing to watch some of these Hawks fans who had to wait forever for their first Cup all of a sudden unable to be patient. It's also unfathomable how many are just so ready to send Kane or Sharp or Keith packing as if their history and time served means nothing.

I'm not happy with this current slide. I'm not happy with Kane's or Keith's play this year. I am patient though and know that if it doesn't happen for us this year, those two along with everyone else on the roster will be another year better and just entering their prime.

We don't have to win this year. The ledgies need to step back or jump and not come back.

Congratulations on breaking that nasty losing streak!

I was beginning to worry they'd pick Sunday's game against us to snap out of it...

If he hasn't been broken of his bad habits by now, he'll never develop beyond what he is now.


Lazy, cherry picking forward with no defensive game. Was that way in 2008, when they won the cup in 2010, and just the same today.

His ice vision will improve with experience. That alone could make him into an assist machine when combined with his current considerable puck skills.

He's not a two-way player. In fact, I doubt that the Hawks would want him to be at his size.

He definitely needs to work on consistency with his effort level, but he's not "lazy."

Nice to get that win last night. I just wish that they had kept their momentum throughout the game and not just the 1st. They came close to allowing the Rangers back into it.

Either way, I'll take it. 9 games was long enough, time to get back to winning.

The non-star players have really stepped up ... if Stalberg, Hayes, Shaw, Oduya, Leddy can keep contributing the way they have been lately, and Keith and Toews get into the lineup, they look primed for a playoff run.

I wonder if they are setting up that #6 ranking in order to draw a slightly easier first-round opponent?
