I've heard that mentioned a few times, but I dunno if playing on the West Coast is necessarily a good thing... Travel can take it's toll on you... Especially since the Hawks wouldn't have home ice...

In regards to their position, it seems as if making the playoffs was the goal and maybe not much beyond that. Was listening to the game tonight (as I built a shooter-tutor in the garage for the boy ;)) and Troy and John were explaining the Hawks' lackluster effort against the Wild as the result of having clinched a playoff spot on Saturday night.

They might have even called the game against the Wild as meaningless. :confused: Can they not get to number 4 in the west? If they could, I would think that they'd want home ice.

It seems a s though Toews is being saved for the playoffs. They said something to the effect of our faceoffs getting better in the playoffs when he returns. I know he's been practicing, but not sure how close he's getting.

It's pretty amazing how well we've done without him. Kane has really stepped up and Hossa is having a solid season.

According to Joel Quennville, Toews has been cleared for contact, and they're hoping to get him back in before the end of the season.
