Re: Official Oswego State 2013-2014 Season Thread - A New Beginning...
Didn't mention the pro team because Syracuse has one too...

They did settle into some bad hobbits in the third and hopefully that doesn't carry over into tomorrow nights game.
Even good hobbits are irritating to me. I really have know idea how I wound up with hobbits, habits only has one measly B in it. I'm not fixing it though because I think it gives the post character.
Agree with your last 5 sentences but note Plattsburgh is not expecting anybody to give them anything. They know they will need to earn it just like all the other good teams hope to do. Never counted you out or Genny. Just keep trucking. So a lot of people are saying how they're disappointed in some of the losses that Oswego has suffered this year, and you're right, the losses are disappointing. But let's put this in context. St. Norbert had 3 disappointing losses this season. Plattsburgh had 3 disappointing losses this season. Utica has had 5, Norwich has had 5, WEC has had 4. Oswego has had 4 losses. Disappointing, all of them, yes. But we're viewing everything through the goggles of "this team lost 14 seniors and is being completely rebuilt" so every disappointment we immediately blame on their age and inexperience. Yes, Oswego changed from last year to this year but there were also a lot of other changes in the league. A lot of teams that were mostly cannon fodder in years past for top 10 teams to beat up on have improved their programs and stand as real challenges for some of the more traditional perennial powerhouses. A lot of mid-level teams like Babson or Geneseo are refusing to step aside for the more lauded teams in their conferences.
In short, the league as a whole has become much more competitive. The difference between the worst and the best team in the league has become smaller. So yes, Oswego has had some disappointing losses. As have pretty much every other top 10 team in D3 right now. Even Adrian has now suffered through 4 ties and a walloping from SNC (11 to 1) that probably still stings a week later.
So in short, don't count Oswego out just yet. Mathematically, they still have a decent shot at an at-large bid if they can beat Genny and Platty in the regular season. And the SUNYAC champion hasn't been crowned yet. People want to just give it to Plattsburgh but I think both Oswego and Geneseo are going to have something to say about it this year. Getting the win at M-ville tonight is a good start, tomorrow night will be a real test of how the boys act when they come into a game expecting to win.
In the end, the key here is "Just keep winning." Keep getting W's. Never consider any game as unnecessary. Every single game is necessary to win, for everyone, every time. If you treat it any differently, you will lose.
nice job, maybe throw in some highlights if possible, keep up the good work!!!
sucks cant watch the game ow how I/we have gotten spoiled, nice win I think, good to galati finally got a goal,lol...2 for 8 on the PP not so good and giving up another shorty,can/will be addressed I am sure..2 goals on 15 shots?? sounded like he made a few really good saves as well...will not be as ez tonight..
just heard it on WNYO as a shorty, who knows, lets hope for another win tonightWe had Morrisville's first goal as shorthanded and the goal by Titanic right after (the Lakers' 5th) as power play. Looking at the collegehockeystats box score they don't even show the penalty to Morrisville in there at all.
Good fight back by the boys tonight. I didn't get to attend the game but they came back from a two goal deficit to win which they have not done this year. Z started because Gilbert was very shaky in the win on Friday but it looks like Z was not great again so I think it will be Gilbert against Geneseo, lets hope he plays Brockport as well because that will mean he played well Friday. When Z was playing so well early in the season the team was rolling but without that consistency now they are really being tested.
