Oswego GA is second only to Platty in the SUNYAC.

I think the frosh goalies are doing pretty well this year despite having to pick each other up.

What happened last night was we got ouplayed and lost by 4 goals.

I like this young team and our chances this year still.

Not sure it's the goalies as much as what's going on (or not going on) in front of the goalies.

Not only the defense, but you can't beat Buffalo St. by scoring 0 goals.

The goalies have not been amazing but they have not been awful either. Gilby looked really lost against Salve but other than that the team has let them down more often than not. Once these guys get back to playing defense first like they were at the beginning of the season they will be back on track. They also need to make sure they execute at the same level no matter who they are playing against, there are no nights off in SUNYAC anymore and you would think, young team or not, they would have realized that by now. I know the coaching staff does not take anyone lightly so now it is up to the players to do the same.

10-4 no nights off in the SUNYAC we have learned that the hard way, young team or old team,goalie playing well or not dmen stepping up or not,and goals going in or out:D,,,still a good season so far in my mind,lets see what else we can do??

This has been a great season to this point, and the future surely looks bright as everyone has said. To steal a quote..."It's a work in progress"

We have certainly seen both sides of Jekyll and Hyde with this team. They are about on par with where I figured they would be record wise but I didn't figure they would be 1-0-2 against Utica and Platty and 1-1 against Elmira only to be .500 against Buff State and Freddy. Big game against Cortland coming up, they need to win if they want to have any shot at a first round bye in the Playoffs especially with games against Geneseo and Plattsburgh still ahead of them.

great point ,they r doing well vs ranked teams ,except the game vs Genny,and seem to slide vs those unranked,mark of a young/unexperienced team?? perhaps.They have to step up vs Cort,and right the ship vs unranked teams.And dont think M'ville will roll over the next weekend either,both in Mville.:eek:

Keep in mind that they aren't both freshmen. Zawadzki is a freshman. Gilbert is a sophomore. But agreed. I think they're doing well considering there are 17 new faces on this team. I don't think there are many people who expected this team to win the SUNYAC and go to the NCAAs this year. We've seen glimpses of what this team could be in the next few years and we've also seen glimpses of really bad play.

I don't think a more experienced goalie would have helped against Buff St on Saturday. There were a few really bad defensive breakdowns and as others have said, you could have Patrick Roy between the pipes...you aren't gonna win if you don't score.

As an outsider looking in....the loss to Buffalo cannot be put completely on the goal tending...the tender was hung out to dry on at least three of the goals if not all 4. The defense was just not there!!

I agree, I thought Zawaski played well, and it was more the defensemen who didn't do what they should have

It is better to ice the puck when you get in trouble like that instead of trying to carry the puck out of the zone yourself or making foolish passes!!

a ton of "upsets" last night and a no class win as well:eek:,what happend in SNC?? Lets hope we dont fall into that tonight,I am sure Cort will be ready to play they have some talent.

as my high school coach would say " better you died as a child than make that pass" ugh he was harsh.

When did icing the puck become such a criminal offense ? Sure it was better back in the day when you could change lines, but these kids are 21 years old !! You can't tell me they can't recover enough in the 20 seconds or so it takes to fetch the puck, line up for a faceoff and get going again. The lost art of flipping the puck high in the air is making a bit of a comeback I've noticed. If you're really good , you can flip it and hit the scoreboard (if it's a hanger)....and get your line change that way. And with that, post #600 is in the books !!

And so they did. And the goalie controversy that we almost thought was over is starting to make a comeback. Gilbert looked like a man possessed on many of those saves tonight. Yeah he let in a couple, but he also made some phenomenal saves that are a 50-50 shot for any goalie. From saving a ridiculous breakaway in the first few minutes of the game to holding the goal in the last 4 minutes of the game when it really counted. 2 goals on 30 shots is not a bad outing by any measure for a goalie.

Thoughts?
