Official Boston University 2009-2010 Pre-season thread - Let the banners rise!

Re: Official Boston University 2009-2010 Pre-season thread - Let the banners rise!

FWIW, INCH posted its annual rankings of incoming forwards, defensemen, and goaltenders with overall class rankings coming later today, they say. They have Chiasson as the 14th forward and Nicastro as the 6th d-man.

Edit: Top 6 freshman classes is descending order: Notre Dame, Denver, BC, Minnesota, Harvard, BU. UNH at 15. Including this year, the last four BU freshman classes have been ranked 6, 3, 2, 2.

Composite TV Schedule also out:
http://www.hockeyeastonline.com/men/presarch/200909/093009md/sep30tvs.php

As terrible as the coverage was, the loss of CN8 hurts BU's TV exposure.
It's realy quite pathetic that Minnesota pretty much has every game televised and the defending national champs has only a handful of games available...good job by ESPNU picking up 3 games though...That's a step in the right direction.

Oct. 20 Notre Dame at Boston U. ESPNU 7pm
Jan. 2 Massachusetts at Boston U. ESPNU 4pm
Jan. 8 Boston U. vs. BC (FP) NESN 7:30pm

Confirmed on the Penguins site.
Figured it would be Pittsburgh or the Av-BU-lanche. ;)
Lots of ex-Terriers in the Atlantic Division.

Hmm... Interesting, thought he'd made the opening night roster already, but it had been publicized that he'd be waived rather if he didn't.

Re last year's #3 ranked class. Rollie was #9 among goalies, Millan not ranked.

Re last year's #3 ranked class. Rollie was #9 among goalies, Millan not ranked.

Also, Corey Trivino was ranked as the #4 overall forward, and Chris Connolly's brother Jack was ranked, but not Chris.

Take INCH's recruiting rankings with a grain of salt. They end up ranking the team's recruiting classes correctly, but for the wrong reasons. :p

Percent chance that BU actually wins the HE regular season crown: 2 Seriously, someone needs to research this. I don't EVER remember the pre-season pick actually winning.

And about that TV coverage (or lack there of) :( BU couldn't arrange anything with 38, 56, 25, 2, HBO, Hallmark Channel, Fox-NE? (or whatever that station is called now.) Really?

BU Hockey: 3rd place HE Finish Not Seen on Local TV

PS: If you haven't ordered CC's highlight DVD yet, what are you waiting for!?

he did make the roster... salary cap issues caused the capitals to waive him

I see that now. But the salary cap didn't change in the last few days, so he didn't really make the team, the Caps were either indecisive or cruel. I understand that just that little bit put them under the cap, but a cheap forward who can play is usually a good thing to have when you're cap-strapped as the Caps are, poor management of that situation. Heh, cap, Caps.

Re: Official Boston University 2009-2010 Pre-season thread - Let the banners rise!

Bomber, HBO?!?!?

I brought them up on Sunday to broadcast the LPGA. We were in the pro shop talking about the decline of interest. I opined that the girls should go out topless, and let HBO or Showtime broadcast. :D
