Official 2012-13 Miami Season Thread: Baby boom!

Re: Official 2012-13 Miami Season Thread: Baby boom!

So now that BC is just about done, every team left is playing for a first title, this is so exciting!

Re: Official 2012-13 Miami Season Thread: Baby boom!

I think a Miami-Lowell Championship game is likely, and it would be great to see either team win it. As a BC fan whose team was miserable this year, I hope Miami can erase the pain of getting so close a few years ago. And Lowell, well, they'll be there in years to come. But Miami is due.

Re: Official 2012-13 Miami Season Thread: Baby boom!

I think I'm going to pull for Miami. If I squint, they look like Badgers (and Terriers, Big Red, and Red Wings), and Williams is from my hometown, which is rare/remarkable. But I wouldn't mind seeing any of the remaining teams win the championship.

Edit: Those jerseys are not the same as the above mentioned teams!

Well, this sucks. We didn't play poorly, just not at the level we need to play at in a tournament game. Probably the most frustrating part of this is the way the tournament shaped up this year, now that a school is guaranteed a first title (and this is some super-sour grapes, but there really aren't many schools that I feel deserve it more than us...).

I really am happy that we came out of this season with the last ever CCHA title with a young team that wasn't really respected by the pre-season polls. And I guess it was nice for the first time in a few years to not be one-and-done.

Oh well, some great young guys off to tNational.

Yeah, just a frustrating game, since I thought it was pretty even. Had a couple mental lapses that SCSU capitalized on, and I will wonder all summer what Spinell was doing on that 2nd goal. At any rate, great season for such a young team, lets get everyone back and make a run at it next year.

I'm sure this one will sting for a while - as all postseason losses do. But I can only echo what some of you have already said: could not be more proud of these kids. They showed an incredible amount of resiliency this year. I could not be more excited about next season. We have a lot of talent, energy, and experience to lead us into a great new conference. Even with the pain of today, it's pretty exhilarating.

Love and Honor.

Good season for you guys, best of luck going forward, and glad we could kickstart a NCHC rivalry off a little early.

Re: Official 2012-13 Miami Season Thread: Baby boom!

Page 3 bump.

All of these articles about early departures got me thinking, do we really have any flight risks? We really don't have anyone old and/or developed enough, hopefully all of the younger guys keep a cool head.

Re: Official 2012-13 Miami Season Thread: Baby boom!

Hopefully we don't lose anyone.

Not going to lie, glad to see Trouba left. He is extremely talented. I know we don't play Michigan in the regular season anymore, but I wouldn't want to see him again.

Few thoughts-
Great season considering everyones expectations
Assuming we avoid an early departure from one of the draftees, we should be a strong contender next season.. very strong
I am not excited about the new conference. Enjoyed the local match ups, plus it was easier travel for the team
Scalps
Off Season Thread?

Another summer of waiting to see who leaves and who ends up in the OHL.

Can't wait...

Have they confirmed who is actually coming in next year? I can't see anyone bolting early from this team, so as it stands right now we are graduating 3D and 3F. Comparing our losses to the recruiting list, are Anthony Louis and Trevor Hamilton the only de-commit risks?

Re: Official 2012-13 Miami Season Thread: Baby boom!

I know very little about the incoming class. Where do you guys get recruitment info. Any riley barbers expected next fall

I try to keep this more or less up to date: Recruit Stats, and people will post any articles that crop up in inidividual threads here: Link

Anthony Louis is probably the skater with the most potential. Not sure what to expect from the two NAHL players, we haven't really recruited forwards from that league since I've been following recruiting, so I don't really know how well their PPG stats will translate.

Kiefer Sherwood has put up some great numbers this year, and popped up on the NHL CSS mid-term list, but I'd imagine he won't be in Oxford until 2015 after a season in the U.

So do we anticipate having most of the players on your stats list in Oxford in the fall? Greenberg seems like a good pickup, assuming the transition isn't too dramatic like you said.
