Official 2012-13 Miami Season Thread: Baby boom!

Re: Official 2012-13 Miami Season Thread: Baby boom!

Don't get me wrong, I'll be there, I'll be cheering, I'll be amped up on the drive over...just...yeah...

I truly thought this was the team that would break the mold of postseason letdowns. I had very high expectations for this past weekend, as well as the national tournament. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem anything has changed, same old ****. That doesn't mean Rico can't get this team to Pittsburgh, he absolutely can.

It's just frustrating seeing the same story play out again, and again, and again. I know it was just one loss to Michigan, but the game was so emblematic of this program's play in meaningful games since their ascension, it's just disheartening. Would love nothing more than to be proven wrong!

Agreed.

Nice to not have to play a defacto away game in the northeast again. We needed an *** kicking, we've rebounded well from them all season. Lets Go Redskins

Hope you're right. But, this feels EXACTLY like last season and we know how that turned out. Western gave us an ***-kicking and we screwed the pooch against UML.

Next seasons schedule announced, opening the season home for 2 weeks with OSU and North Dakota will be nuts. And more OOC action with Bucky, Providence, Canisius, and Bemidji, looks pretty good.

That schedule is beautiful. I'm going to want to drive five hours to Oxford almost every weekend, but will realistically have to limit myself to UND, Wisco and Denver.

Hell of a game for Wingels last night. Played on a line with Marleau and Couture racking up two assists with a short handed goal.

I've been a huge fan of the opening weekend H/H since the idea trickled out, so it was great to see it officially on paper. Hope that placement sticks for future years.

I am also excited to keep the series alive.

Got home from class today to find my tickets waiting for me! I'll be in section 107 wearing red. Gotta love NCAA tourney games in your backyard!

Re: Official 2012-13 Miami Season Thread: Baby boom!

Game day, I can only hope that our guys are half as nervous/pumped as I am. I'm not even sure what my expectations are for this tournament, all I can say is that I hope the poor run by the WCHA continues for a few more games.

Re: Official 2012-13 Miami Season Thread: Baby boom!

ESPN 3 now saying the game is blacked out in my area. **** **** **** **** ****

Re: Official 2012-13 Miami Season Thread: Baby boom!

What a rebound. We had some shaky moments especially in the first period, but McKay really bailed us out. Sucks that Mullin is out, that was a nasty hit.

Anyway, this is turning out to be a crazy tournament. Yale gets through two WCHA front runners to book a frozen four, QU is currently losing, this field is wide open. Tomorrow will be crazy, SCSU looked scary against a good ND team today.

Congrats guys. We couldn't catch a break and bury early and you guys capitalized. Nice job and good luck.

Thanks, MavHockey. Coach Hastings has definitely done some great work in his first year and I have a feeling we'll be seeing MSU making the NCAAs on a more regular basis going forward.

Re: Official 2012-13 Miami Season Thread: Baby boom!

Really came back from a shaky 1st period and played some great hockey.

Thumbs up to all the Miami fans there tonight, very fun atmosphere for the 2nd game. The atmosphere for ND/SCSU....

Re: Official 2012-13 Miami Season Thread: Baby boom!

Really surprised at lack of ND support in Toledo. That first game was dead from the start, so you can't blame the score for the lack of atmosphere.

On the other hand I was really impressed with Miami's attendance. Before the game started the crowd was already much more enthusiastic and I think it helped the guys settle down in the second and third periods.
