Re: Official 2012-13 Miami Season Thread: Baby boom!
The only other thing I'd say about it all -
Miami walking away from Michigan (or ND or MSU for that matter) if given the option for a recurring 1-for-1 would make zero sense, and our administration as expressed as much. They are not naive enough to think it's not going to be an uphill battle selling North Dakota as our marquee opponent. Keeping as many "name" schools as possible on the slate has to be a priority going forward.
If it was on our end, I guess they had their reasons. However, from Steve Cady on down, everyone has expressed at least once that while they are excited about the move to the NCHC, there is a sense of regret that we'll not longer have our one sport which we are on an equal level with the big schools. Telling Michigan to shove it would seem to fly counter to that.
Michigan, otoh, doesn't need Miami. Or any opponent for that matter. There are perks to being Michigan.
Inquiring minds can draw their own conclusions...

Hockey!
I'd say it's probably fair to throw the results from Yost out the window. I know a few Michigan (and probably one Minnesota) posters are leaning heavy on that split as a basis for their expectations, but it seems kinda irrelevant to me.
Friday Loss - We had a roster with 13 freshman, playing in their first ever road game, at Yost nonetheless. Tack on McKay going down after 1 save, and Williams still being in a bit of a soft serve ice cream phase. Michigan wins.
Saturday Win - Had a nice comeback in the 3rd, but their D is somewhat shored up, and Racine is playing much better. Not the same Michigan team we'll be seeing on Saturday.
My guess is that the band will be in the corner around section 227. I believe Miami's section is behind the home bench, sections 122/222 - 128/228.
Gracias!
