I don't know. I'm not bothered by him not liking President Obama, but it seems a little disrespectful to his teammates doesn't it? What's the harm in toughing it out for 20 minutes?

I don't think it's disrespectful to them at all.
Everyone knows why he isn't there, it's no secret and again, it was his choice, the team left it up to him.
If they didn't push it, neither should anyone else.

I'm sorry, but Thomas and the other athletes that have done this, regardless of who is in office, come off as babies to me. The leader of the free world, who was elected to that post by the nation you reside in and entertain, has invited you to his home. Get over yourself and show up.

Agree completely, and it doesn't matter who it is in office. It is the athlete's decision if they want to go, or not. In my opinion, to hold that decision against them, and to take that free choice away makes the president seem more like a monarch than a president.
