Official 2010-2011 Miami season Thread: 3rd times a charm???

Re: Official 2010-2011 Miami season Thread: 3rd times a charm???

Really?? you like this? I think this bracket is brutal. Miami doesn't matchup well with UNO at all, the system they play and the way our defense has played this season it doesn't bode well. Were one spot off of the easiest bracket. Notre Dame is in a spot to cruse to the FF with their bracket. I don't want to play Omaha at all, we may be familiar with them but they are **** good. I also don't want to face Michigan in the tourny again. No matter what happened earlier this year, they are still talented and Red knows how to coach in the tournament. There are several other match ups that could happen that would favor Miami far better than these two potential ones. ANY ECAC team would be a great matchup, but I for one am not in favor of this bracket for Miami. Only favorable thing about it is that its in St. louis and the closest regional for fans to attend.

Just my take on it...

That's valid. I'm not saying we would have it easy by any stretch, but we know that we can play well against those teams is all i'm saying.

Well I see your point but we haven't played UNO all year and things can change so not sure how familiar we actually are other than the name. But familiarity doesn't make it a good bracket, IMO.

However I was on INCH today and we all know they do things a little different. They actually project the bracket on what it will be on selection day based on where teams are now and how they are playing and their conference match ups. They have Miami in St. Louis still playing UNO but Miami is the #2 seed. They also have North Dakota as the #1 seed against RPI. Tough bracket, but thats what you get in the tournament nothing is easy.

More comparisons up for grabs tonight. We broke the tie with Notre Dame yesterday. A loss by Merrimack and we will pass them. Already own the one over Denver, but a SCSU win will help us lock that one up even more. A UNO win over UMD, and we will swap those, with winning over Duluth but UNO will get the comparison over us based on TUC record.

Currently up to a tie for 7th in the PWR, and we own the comparison over Merrimack. Come on more fortunate results. Surprised BG actually pulled out a win tonight over NMU, so might not be a lock that we see the Wildcats next weekend.

Re: Official 2010-2011 Miami season Thread: 3rd times a charm???

And now the Denver win is in. So we drop 2 spots and Merrimack gets the jump on us. Crazy how one result can cause so much fluctuation. Let's just keep the Ws coming next week and control the results we can control.

If BG wins. 1 Michigan vs 11 BG. 2 Notre vs 8 Lake. 3 Miami vs 7 UAF. 4 Western vs 5 Ferris.

If nmu wins. 1 Michigan vs 8 Lake. 2 Notre vs 7 UAF. 3 Miami vs 6 Northern. 4 Western vs 5 Ferris.

Best case scenerio for Miami. Nice job to BG and congrats to Berg on that series win, he silently helped his alma mater by doing that.

If Miami should sweep alaska they have the chance to make a sizeable leap in the PWR. By getting two more wins over a TUC they have the chance to flip that comparison against 3 maybe 4 teams ahead of them and if the wins can give them a big enough RPI boost Miami could easily see themselves sitting at #5 going to the Joe with the chance of stealing a 1 seed from Michigan. Now things have to fall in place, but more importantly if Miami wins their next 4 games they will be a high 2 seed at the min. possibly a 1 seed. They have to take care of their own business but having Alaska next weekend is a far better option than NMU, alsaka gives Miami a much better chance to gain ground on the teams in front of them especially since Union won't be playing a TUC and merrimack is struggling and they are playing maine so if maine wins that series that would be a bigger boost for miami. Door is opening this team needs to take advantage.

No offense, RHM, but I don't want Miami to steal a 1 seed from Miami. Stealing it from Michigan, though, would be very sweet. :p

I completely agree with you. I was pulling for BG so we have the chance to secure a couple more TUC wins while advancing to the Joe. I know many other people (JD included) wanted NMU because they would probably be the easier match-up, but I'd rather have a bigger challenge with higher stakes.

I'll be breakin' out the tuba this weekend to welcome the Nanooks to Oxford. Maybe I'll even bring some Bubblicious! :D
