Official 2010-2011 Miami season Thread: 3rd times a charm???

Re: Official 2010-2011 Miami season Thread: 3rd times a charm???

LOL yea I just noticed that too and came on to retrack some. Your assumption is correct, OSU right now is the last team as a TUC after their tie last night. Ferris being in doesn't help us either but OSU is closer to being out so you got it right go Ferris and Western!

Definitely...go Ferris for TUC status and, well, OSU should always lose.

Looks like a nice performance tonight. Hope it keeps up tomorrow and we're firing on all cylinders at the right time of the year

I didn't get to see any of the game but it seemed like every time I checked the score we had another goal. Just checking the box score I noticed that we scored early in all 3 periods. That's a very good sign!

"Smith fired nine shots – giving him 74 on the season – and two hit the net, leading me to think hockey is quite an easy sport to analyze: Just have Smith shoot nine times a game and two will go in. Back to the real world…" ~John Lachmann

Things really broke our way last night. But, again, we have to keep winning so hopefully the guys have a short memory. The win tonight going into another bye is critical since we don't play next week while several teams around us will continue to play. ECAC is beginning to show signs of cracking.

Man, it's gotta be tough losing the regular season title on the final night. Wonder what that might do to the psyche of a young, young team. Ah, the Crying Irish... #fail

thats because the ECAC is the most overrated conference in the history of college hockey...

Also listened to the Lake st. broadcast last night, wanted to hear a different perspective but mainly our play by play guy is awful, and they have by far the least hockey educated announcers I have ever heard. The garbage that came out of both of their mouths were, to be honest embarassing, yet really funny. I know a lot of college announcers are homers but they took it to a whole new level. A guy sneezed in the crowd and they called langseth horrible for not calling a penalty. I couldn't believe how clueless they really were and the fact they actually said the only thing that seperated Miami and Lake st. was that Miami was just lucky is laughable. Had to share with all because frankly I couldn't believe what I was hearing lol.

Someone made a Miele for Hobey video. Pretty slick

Andy Miele with a 5 pt. weekend this weekend and now has 61 pts on the year during the regular season. So I would like to be the first one to officialy welcome Mr. Hobey Baker to oxford, Ohio.

They really were something else, one of the color guys was actually Brian Mahoney-Wilson. I didn't think it could get worse then the St. Cloud radio broadcast, but these guys definitely took it in a landslide.

I liked the part of their broadcast this past weekend when they mentioned that we're a real threat to win it all this year and the best team they had seen this year. Also when they brought up and said who in the hell is actually voting. Union ahead of us.

Dunno if any broadcast will top NMU of a few years ago. Mussolini

Haha! I remember the Mussolini thing. Awesome! I wonder if he was related to the "Boom Goes the Dynamite" Guy?

"and.. boom goes the dynamite"

I've been asking my ESPN connection to look into covering a game at the Goggin all year. No dice. ESPN doesn't seem interested in college hockey at all. Shame :(

Yea he is still bitter about getting shelled his last two starts against Miami.

That was apparent when they delayed coverage of a NCAA tourny game two years ago on espnu for overtime regular season lacrosse. Be thankful they put the frozen four on there.

I really like this week's Bracketology results:

West: (St. Louis)
Michigan
UNO
Miami
Colorado College

This would be outstanding for Miami - 2 teams that we're very familiar with and match up well with all 3. Too bad it won't end up here.

Really?? you like this? I think this bracket is brutal. Miami doesn't matchup well with UNO at all, the system they play and the way our defense has played this season it doesn't bode well. Were one spot off of the easiest bracket. Notre Dame is in a spot to cruse to the FF with their bracket. I don't want to play Omaha at all, we may be familiar with them but they are **** good. I also don't want to face Michigan in the tourny again. No matter what happened earlier this year, they are still talented and Red knows how to coach in the tournament. There are several other match ups that could happen that would favor Miami far better than these two potential ones. ANY ECAC team would be a great matchup, but I for one am not in favor of this bracket for Miami. Only favorable thing about it is that its in St. louis and the closest regional for fans to attend.

Just my take on it...

Miele named CCHA Player of the Month...again. Second consecutive monthly honor. He took two weekly honors during February. Wonder if Carl Hagelin knows who he is now? :)

Nah. He'll still say Miele is our only offensive player, albeit mediocre at best. He won't notice that the #2 and #3 scoring leaders in the conference were from Miami also. I guess those education commercials were wrong. Sweden isn't better than us at math.
