Re: Official 2009-2010 Miami Season Thread

Just watched a replay of the little line brawl over the weekend, and have a couple notes. Secondly Connor Knapp is absolutely lucky he didn't get a third man in during that scrum.

Knapp went in to help because 2 guys were going after Miele at the same time. That's about the time that Wideman made the leap to help out also.

Re: Official 2009-2010 Miami Season Thread

Well you don't have as much as this troll Redcloud....He is trolling on our thread and has been neg repping me all week. Lol guy goes around trolling on other teams thread telling everyone they are wrong, he seems to be hated everywhere. So sad people can't just talk it out and have to neg rep with nasty comments, some just can't admit they don't know everything lol.

maybe it's because i do know everything....the fact that you didn't know that is proof that you aren't up to my level...maybe next time rhm :P

I think calling the Student's hockey coverage dreadful would be a compliment. I couldn't believe the headline last Tuesday (something like "'Hawks sink Lakers, for Burke"). I mean honestly after a game as emotionally charged as last Saturday's you headline it with a sports cliche. Pathetic.

Sadly, I would have to agree. Only reason I read it is to kill time between classes.

Re: Official 2009-2010 Miami Season Thread

The Student has disgraced itself all year in just about every section, including sports. It's gotten progressively worse the 3 years I've been here. It used to be a source of pride for the school, but its shortcomings have been well documented around here.

Re: Official 2009-2010 Miami Season Thread

At least the Police Beat is still up to par!

That was always the best part. I haven't read it in a couple years, but some of those stories were classic. I don't think this was in the police beat, but anyone remember the guy around halloween who was dressed up as a Breathalyzer, and was stopped driving from Oxford and got a DUI himself. I think I saw that on WLWT. Classic.

I don't know, I for one thought the 2 month long exposé on the overcrowding in freshmen residence halls this fall was scintillating journalism.

Lol, the best part of that whole fiasco was that he actually took his mug shot while the costume still on. He's got this ridiculous smile on his face, and his costume says he's "Sotally Tober". Awesome stuff. :D

Surprisingly, that is an awfully easy story to find on google haha.

Re: Official 2009-2010 Miami Season Thread

I disagree. Tell me the last time Michigan won a road series during the playoffs- not too often back in the early Red days. They have swept one team b2b on their ice, and that was LSSU early in the season. (Split w/OSU, swept at UNO, everything else has been H&H).Tell me the last time they lost a Yost playoff series. I'll take my chances at home- and if they screw that up, which they could considering how they can't put two or three quality games together this season, then it would be a fitting end to the season. As it is, the prospect of having Miami prison sex them at JLA isn't all that appealing, either, especially in front of a partisan anti-Michigan crowd. If anything, it would sure temper any of the pre-season hype for next year.

From the Michigan thread. This just cracked me up.

By rule that doesn't matter, Wideman got there just before him anyways. Regardless if the goaltender leaves the crease to get involved its almost automatic. Then you are in a 6 on 5 advantage, like I said he is extremely lucky to not of gotten anything. Doesn't matter if it was a 2 on 1 against miele or not. All mute right now, but can't let stuff like that happen in the future when games get more meaningfull.

Re: Official 2009-2010 Miami Season Thread

Little to no UNO representation on this board, but on MavPuck someone said that because RMU beat us, that they could handle us also. Sure glad that the following teams didn't think of that also;

St Cloud State
New Hampshire
Northern Michigan
Michigan
Ferris State
Western Michigan
North Dakota
Notre Dame
Ohio State
Alaska Fairbanks
Lake Superior
Bowling Green

Man, if any one of those other teams had thought about that also, they might have beaten us once this season. UNO might be on a recent winning streak, but no reason that we shouldn't take a couple wins this weekend.

Re: Official 2009-2010 Miami Season Thread

I think rational Bowling Green fans might concede that RMU is a superior hockey team to their Falcons :p . But that is defiantly some undeniable logic out of Mav country.

Well there are reasons we won't, but it isn't a lock that Miami sweeps and honestly a split this weekend isn't bad. I would be fine with a split, the games are just getting tougher with 3 weeks remaining before playoffs start.
