Re: Official 2009-2010 Miami Season Thread

RHM,

I didn't mean a **** thing about the "St" thing. In fact, I didn't even look back to see who made the mistake. Its not a touchy subject with any of us, or at least nobody that I know of. Hell, we're happy when people put St. Cloud correctly in the state of Minnesota. Sounds like you just ran into the Grammar Police. :D

No I know you didnt, I didn't think you did. Just wanted to make sure the credible people on here knew there wasn't anything malicious behind it. I always put st. for state and didn't think anything by it when I typed it. Regardless I don't want to put up with that crap so wanted to direct a couple of you over here if you wanted to chat about the weekend.

I'm sure most people are itching for news too, here's the Student article on the upcoming season, take it for what its worth. Definitely like the Blasi quote though
http://media.www.miamistudent.net/m...ports/hawks.Ready.To.Make.Magic-3793927.shtml

"I like this team," Blasi said. "I think the effort was certainly there. Our speed is a little bit better from last year. We have a little bit more skill, if that's possible. For the most part we have a veteran group."

By the way, 'Hawkman, the Hamilton Journal had the season schedule for Miami and they listed "Michigan St." and "Ohio St." I thought of you. Editorial imperative: use as little space as possible. :)

Should be fun this weekend. For me, I always worry about the same thing against a real good/skilled team like SCSU (note the abbreviation, rhm :D ): will Miami stop the puck? It will be fun to see Bobby Motzko again also. He was very popular when he was here.

Re: Official 2009-2010 Miami Season Thread

Just wanted to say a quick hello to all the Red Hawk fans out there. After the disappointing end to last years season, I absolutely cannot wait for the team to get back out there and start a new season.

One quick question for any students at Miami that post on here. What time are you all planning to get into line Friday? I'm done with classes early that day so I think I will be heading over around 2. Just wondering what everyone else is planning on doing. I would like to meet all the other hardcore fans out there.

Anyway can't wait until the weekend.
Let's go Hawks sweep the Huskies.

hahaha thats why you have always been my favorite redeagle! :D

BTW not sure any others remember him during his days at Miami but former Head coach Bill Davidge is now the color guy for the Columbus Bluejackets. Caught him on the telecast the other night and thought he did a great job. Although I am biased as he was my first coach and was instrumental in my hockey development. Im still waiting for an "elbows and *******s" comment out of coach!

Welcome to the board!

Wouldn't say there was a disapointing end, considering they weren't even suppose to get out of the first round. But love your enthusiasm and always great to get new Miami fans on here. Well atleast level headed ones, no names mentioned. :D

I understand how the season was a success being as we weren't suppose to get that far, but losing a 3-1 lead in final minute of a game has to be considered a disappointment.

Anyway enough of the negativity...It's a new year and can't wait for it to begin.

And thanks for the warm welcome redhawkman. I've been reading threads for a while thought it was time I finally made a post.

Welcome to Sweeney.

Bill Davidge has done a nice job with his braodcasting for years. Nice to see him get the tv job. He was good last year on the tv pre-game show, IMO. rhm, I don't think you will get an e&a comment out of the Coach, but I do remember those.

Haha I know we won't on the air, and frankly I heard enough of them growing up. I agree he did great on the pregame show and the radio over the past few years. This is a long time coming IMO.

Your point is valid and definantly understandable. I just try to not dwell on that specific moment when they weren't even suppose to be there. For me making it places the program has never been is considered more of a success than a dissapointment, all my opinion but see your point of view.

I understand your side as well.

Anyway...can't wait, this time Friday I will be sitting in line at the Goggin getting pumped for the game :)
