Re: Official 2009-2010 Miami Season Thread
Heck, I thought they answered any questions vs. Canada! They have been the only team that's been able to compete with Canada - at least of those in the bracket since Canada didn't play any crossover teams with Switzerland's upset win over Russia. IMO, we have been the best looking team in the field with our tie with Canada (not accepting a shootout as a full-fledged loss...joke) and wins over Finland and two-time defending silver medalists, Sweden.
This is why the USNTDP is around...to get a medal in these international events. Gold would of course be preferred, but they have to get to the point where they are playing for any medal, and do it every year. This seems like a very good team that's well-coached by Blais.
Stepan, D'Amigo and Kristo have been very, very good in this tournament. I also don't remember Kristo making this kind of an impact vs. Miami, but he had certainly been hot for the Sue before the tourney. If those three haven't burned up their legs, their college teams should really see a huge boost by their return the respective lineups with how they are playing.
Well team USA should of just answered any questions people had about them tonight. Dominating 6-2 win over Finland and tied 2-2 against sweeden in a tight back and forth game they pull away and dominate the third winning 5-2. Gold medal game everyone wanted to see with the rematch of USA vs Canada on tuesday night. Boy this team plays extremely hard and fast. Great puck movement and team speed. I sure don't remember Danny Kristo playing this well against Miami, but he looks phenominal out there. Mike Lee who played Miami extremely tough opening weekend for St. Cloud has been stellar in net. I got a good feeling about this team and think they can take down the mighty canadians.
