Official 2009-2010 Miami season thread part II: Unfinished Business

Re: Official 2009-2010 Miami season thread part II: Unfinished Business

The cheesy gold chain kinda adds something to it, don't you think?

Hahahaha I didn't notice that AT ALL until you mentioned it. Then I looked back at the picture and literally laughed out loud. Thank you.

EDIT: Working on brief game recap at Jackets Required (jacketsrequired.blogspot.com) and MU Hockey Blog (muredhawkshockey.blogspot.com). Care to guess what the image is gonna be?

Kind of 1960ish mobster like....Is cousin vinny waiting by the players only entrance after the game?? lol

"Some scrappy and chippy moments over the last couple of weeks, but opponents know they have to be physical coming in if they want to be successful in this building. If you're not, with a team like Miami and their depth, get on the bus, grab your Bagel and Deli and go home."

Wow, glad I taped the game tonight. That was the quote of the broadcast.

spot on assumption too, but I think it goes past goggin. You have to do it any time you play this team or you will most likely end up on the trainers table.

Couldn't of been starman making that comment, wonder how he is feeling about last nights performance.. :D

Please tell me that someone used Photoshop to put that chain on VAIVE....I wouldn't let that crap on my ice if I were The Don.

Re: Official 2009-2010 Miami season thread part II: Unfinished Business

I agree with virtually all of this.

And, I think you're right about teams simply getting frustrated and unfortunately, Miami is taking the bait in some instances. We need to play with more composure.

Rico was steaming mad at McKenzie for getting involved with Ambroz by the UNO bench. You don't often see that but the ONN camera (for what it's worth...not much) was right on him and he grabbed CMac and essentially pulled him back onto the Miami bench.

Cody certainly wants the first back but as others have said, Camper played a 1-on-1 like a 2-on-1!

Well atleast Carter didn't wiff on a hit like he did against Grant in the ot loss to MSU. lol

He actually kinda looks like Mario Lopez/A.C. Slater there.

He was complimentary during the third period of the Army/Mercyhurst telecast on CBS-C. He said the win went a long way toward answering that question of whether we'd be ready for the tournament. He still really loves UNO.

However, he was complimentary of the season and our depth, particularly at center.

He will come around, nothing wrong with liking UNO they are a good club. They need a little help but if they can steal a win tonight and against Bemidji next weekend and a run in the conference tourny they have an outside shot at an at large bid. Would take some luck and other teams stumbling but sitting at 23 right now they have hope. One team that is creeping up quietly is NMU, they are rising in the PWR and have a shot at the #2 seed in the conference tourny still.....

Wow, I've been away for a while and just read the last few pages. This pesky job I have has kept me away from my real job--monitoring the USCHO Miami thread. :)

I am thrilled by the passion, zest, and enthusiasm of the newer posters. Bring it on and we'll temper it. I'd also point out that rhm has evolved a very healthy, IMO, respect for Miami's opponents. All anyone has to do is say Robert Morris and we have evidence why that is a good idea. But we should all realize that having a different opinion does not make someone "ignorant." Some opinions are more informed than others, but opinions are still just opinons. JMHO :p

I missed last night's game; first one since my son's wedding in '04. (By the way it was a toss-up for me for the wedding or the game. :D) I tried to get the wedding moved to an away game, but....

Sounded like a good win; hope Vaive is ok. Nice to see Palmer having such a good senior year. Did I really read an A. C. Slater reference?!

Wait. You youngins had to google AC Slater? He was the wrestling king of bayside. Man he really out them valley highschool chumps in their place.

Remember how in the middle school episodes the only real cast was preppy and Lisa. Then Morris was invited to join the cool kids but turns out it was all a prank on him. I'm only late 20s but come on.

Very well said sensay!!! Wasn't calling the opinion ignorant, more the thought process and logic behind the opinion.

You missed a good one last night. First period was back and forth, UNO had an answer for anything Miami did. However a nice adjustment made in between periods and Miami started their puck possesion game. Forced Coach Blais to use a time out mid way through the second down 3-2 only to have Miami score about a min or say after the time out and that was all she wrote. For me it was good in the sense Miami didn't play very well and still beat a good team. They got some puck luck and found a way to win, which is always the sign of a good team.

Re: Official 2009-2010 Miami season thread part II: Unfinished Business

LoVerde has blocked 63 shots so far this season. Second most are Weber and Wideman with 28. Talk about giving up your body for the team.

Palmer Miele and Schill all have +/-s that are over +20. Nobody is -.

And has anyone noticed that we are undefeated in "away" games. Our 2 losses outside of the Goggin might as well have been classified as away, but were technically neutral against Bemidji at the Ralph and RMU at the Igloo.
