Official 2009-2010 Miami season thread part II: Unfinished Business

Re: Official 2009-2010 Miami season thread part II: Unfinished Business

Outstanding! What time are you getting up there? We're probably leaving around noon but not exactly certain.

I'm hoping to hit the road from Columbus by 11 and planning to catch at least part of the NMU/FSU game if all works out.

Im bummed I won't be up there.....Stupid work!!!!

I really should do a better job at scheduling....

With that said, I will enjoy sitting in front of the tv watching the non stop college basketball and hockey all weekend!!!

Me and the pops are headin up. Where's everyone looking at staying? Any good deals for hotels in a good area up there?

I'll be at the Ren Center Marriott for Friday night (they didn't have ANY rooms open for Saturday night). Grabbed a room first thing Monday morning. I know they are booked solid for the entire weekend now, but they have a number of affiliated hotels right in the area, so you may want to call them and see if they've extended their CCHA Group Rate to any of their other hotels.

Check priceline, JD, they have great deals. May not get downtown but can get close. If you want to stay downtown they will be able to get you a really good deal. Been able to stay for under $100 before through priceline.

On Friday, I would like to see some of this...

<object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/p14qKlcQhws&hl=en_US&fs=1&rel=0"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/p14qKlcQhws&hl=en_US&fs=1&rel=0" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object>

...and some of this...

<object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/MQX508ygW2g&hl=en_US&fs=1&rel=0"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/MQX508ygW2g&hl=en_US&fs=1&rel=0" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object>

Good news is that it doesn't seem to matter whether they're wearing their home or away jerseys...

Could this week possibly go any more slowly?

For God's sake, please, with sugar on top...

Beat Michigan.

I'll be glued to my tube cheering you guys on.

LOL! We haven't had much success against them in the state of Michigan so I'm not overly optimistic. That said, the domination of the conference in the regular season has to mean something, I think.

Re: Official 2009-2010 Miami season thread part II: Unfinished Business

Hey we had a pretty good record in Michigan this season. Swept nmu. Swept Ferris. Beat and tied western. Steamrolled Michigan.

It should, I don't take us going to 3 games into account. The rivalry angle adds to the aspect, but I think the fact that the series went 3 games actually helps us come this weekend. Miami had to play in some pressure situations and showed a great ability to come back saturday night and a great ability on sunday to clamp down and get it done when they needed too.

We did, but those two games at Michigan and Northern were earlier in the season. A lot has changed since then, so I don't hold as much stock as I do the sweep at Ferris which was a really big series for both teams.

I think its sufficient to say we are also a much different (read; better) team than we were at the beginning of the season. Especially the chemistry that Reilly miele and Palmer have built

But we are not playing as well now, as we were then. Atleast IMO we aren't.

Re: Official 2009-2010 Miami season thread part II: Unfinished Business

Miami has only lost two games since the Robert Morris debacle. One to a then hot UNO team after we had already won the league, the second to an Ohio state team that was fighting for their season not to end. I don't think that's saying we've been playing bad recently

It isn't about win's and losses right now. Its the eye test, they may be winning some games but they aren't playing as well as they were at the end of January. Got to watch the little things in games, JD, you know that. Hopefully it was contained to last weekend, and maybe it was certain things Ohio St. did, but they got a lot on tape this week to improve on. Which isn't a bad thing. Never said they were playing bad, didn't use that word. But they aren't playing their best right now.

Miami Has Two Legs Up in Net

CHN said:
Pick a hand.

Both have all the right digits and all the makings and markings of hard work. Each one is strong enough to pick up and carry the heaviest of things. You're ambidextrous; somedays you're a righty, and other, a lefty.

Such is a dilemma faced by Miami RedHawks coach Enrico Blasi with his sophomore goalie tandem of Cody Reichard and Connor Knapp.

And Wingels on the INCH Hobey Tracker...

Tommy Wingels
Miami
Junior | Forward Stats: 39 GP, 16-25—41

The Buzz: The RedHawks have been among the country’s two or three best teams the entire season and figure to have at least one Hobey finalist. Wingels is the choice here because of his consistency — he has at least one point in 19 of Miami’s 23 games since Dec. 1, and he’s only been held scoreless in back-to-back games three times also season.
