The solution is to deny care to people who don't have insurance. Screw the mandate.

The solution is to take all the uninsured people and have them as the first wave of invaders into Iran.

Sounds better than "Operation Human Shield" and "Operation Get Behind the Darkies". ;)

"Operation Get Behind The Poors"?

There's a difference between poor and smart (where you may not have the cash, but know how to live within your means to afford the coverage) and poor and stupid (and I don't mean NASCAR drivers).

So, you're playing the personal responsibility card? Seems pretty obvious that if people in this country were responsible the Federal Government never would have come up with the individual mandate solution.

CBO: Projected cost of Obamacare nearly double estimates

Over $2T once a full 10 years is calculated in. Who didn't see this coming?

You wouldn't be lying now, would you MinnFan?

CBO Cuts Cost Estimate for Obama Healthcare LawPublished: Wednesday, 14 Mar 2012 | 11:40 AM ET

The estimated net costs of expanding healthcare coverage under President Barack Obama's landmark restructuring have been reduced by $48 billion through 2021, though fewer people would be covered under private insurance plans, according to a new analysis from the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office.

The CBO on Tuesday also revised its overall federal budget deficit estimates to show a $92 billion increase in the projected fiscal gap for 2012,confirming a fourth straight year of $1 trillion-plus deficits.

The CBO revisions gave ammunition to both Democrats, who largely support Obama's controversial 2010 healthcare law, and to Republicans, who staunchly oppose it. The law will take center stage later this month when the U.S. Supreme Court hears oral arguments in a challenge of its constitutionality.

By reducing the estimated net 2012-2021 costs to $1.083 trillion from $1.131 trillion a year ago, the CBO report could help Democrats blunt some of the criticism over the high costs of extending coverage to some 47 million uninsured Americans, as they try to tout savings elsewhere in the law.

These cost reductions are largely due to lower estimates for subsidies and tax credits associated with the law's planned insurance exchanges for individual coverage.

They also include higher revenues from penalties and the tax effects of higher taxable income, as private employers drop health insurance plans in favor of extra compensation for employees to buy insurance via the exchanges.

But the analysis also projected that some 4 million fewer people will obtain insurance through employers or through the insurance exchanges promoted by the healthcare law by 2016 than estimated a year ago.

Many of those people will need to be covered by the government-run Medicaid program for the poor, causing higher Medicaid costs to eat into savings elsewhere.

The CBO also added another year to its overall cost estimate for the insurance provisions, extending it out to 2022, for an 11-year net cost of $1.252 billion.

Before the revenue and tax effects, the gross cost for that period hits a new high: $1.762 trillion, and Republicans wasted little time in pouncing on it and the lower coverage estimate.

Better to bankrupt the country then?

Instead its just better to deny care to everyone since that is the only way you are going to be able to contain the cost of this.

*edit - I was assuming you were being sarcastic. If not, I'm all with you. That is what charity used to take care of

Is there a government mandate telling charities they can't?

Why would they duplicate the effort? Some still do fill in holes. Its called "crowding out". Its why 50 years ago 1/3 of the population belonged to a fraternal orgainization and they are now virtually non-existent.

I have no doubt in my mind that Health Care will bankrupt the country. I wasn't being sarcastic.

It's a shame there isn't a model we can follow, that's tried by every industrialized country in the world....
No, better to keep health care tied to private profit because Blue Cross and Sun Life know best.

And the quality and speed of care is so great that they are coming here to get treated. Its great to get free healthcare until you actually need to get treated.

Half of the money spent on healthcare in this country comes for the gov't. Half of the hospitals are non-profit. Who is really running healthcare?

Re: Obama XXIII: The Muslin Anti-Christ Wages War on the forces of Christianity!

Conservatives should love Obamacare. It takes a systemic problem everybody is aware of and fears (the growing expense and bureaucracy of health care) but which they currently blame on the private sector, and moves it to the government, where the GOP can run against it as "that gol-durned wasteful gubmint" for the next hundred years.

The already do this with everything else, harnessing people's annoyance and fear of the complexity and interdependence of the modern world and dealing with people who are significantly different from you because they don't just live on the farm next door. They should just add health care to their list of nostalgia for things that never were.

Health insurance companies?

Prices here are so high, people here are going overseas to get care. We've had bus trips to Canada to buy prescription drugs because they cost next to nothing there.

Oh right, we shouldn't be focusing on solutions. Instead, we should be focusing on who to blame.

In a recent court case, we've already seen the biggest problem with Obummercare: The government is telling these health organizations what to do, but these health organizations have to take all the bad rep for it.

Also, this system, I guarantee, will put EVERY family doctor and small practice out of business. Why? Bureaucracy in becoming approved for government reimbursement. You already see it in New York State's government plan: Two small practices right in town, but no, you have to go 40 miles away to find a practitioner that's government approved.

ha ha I get it! Conservative people are stupid racists who are not smart at all. They are afraid of the black peoples. They also cling on their guns and religions because they are afraid and annoyed on the modern world.
