Jon Kyl just told me yesterday that there is no more money to be cut from defense. The big pieces of the pie are those out of control welfare programs. So, eliminate them. Problem solved.

Also, state budgets are out of control and the biggest part of their budgets that are out of control is public education. End it. Abolish it. Whatever. You want an education for your kids feel free to pay for it. You shouldn't be stealing from me to send your kids to school.

The middle class (on the housing credit card) drove GW Bush's economy in the 2000's. I think that's clear. All that money has either disappeared or been taken from the middle class.

The roaring economy of 2002-2008 was most definitely an illusion fueled by the housing bubble, but I disagree with your use of the word "taken." If a middle-class person borrowed money against the (perceived) value of his house and then the house dropped in value, nothing was "taken" from him - he made a gamble and lost, pure and simple. If the homeowner can't pay it back, then the lender not only doesn't get the interest on the loan, he loses the principal, too. If the lenders were somehow "taking" so much money from the middle class homeowners, why exactly did so many of them (Countrywide, etc) go out of business? And why did the balance sheets of investment banks (Bear Sterns, Lehman, etc) and other financial firms plummet?

The total wealth in the US is not a zero-sum game - just because someone lost money does not mean that someone else gained the same amount (i.e. "took" it from him).

I'd agree. If it weren't for the fact that there was massive fraud and predatory lending going on.

Common sense would allow you to guard against predatory lending. In order for that exploitation to work, the would-be borrower has to be a greedy idiot as well (greedy to expect someone to lend to him/her despite a paltry / possibly undocumented income / no savings and an idiot to believe he/she can afford a $200k house on little income).

Absolutely. The lenders were gambling, too - betting that the homeowners would actually be able to pay those ridiculous adjustable rates, balloon payments, fees, etc.

I have no sympathy for any of them. But, the sucky part of it is even though I didn't fall for it I'm still being punished.

Seems to be Obamacare is an overreach. If healthcare costs are rising that means the market will bear it. So, let it rise. The real problem is the government subsidizing those who can't afford it. That's easily solved. Don't.

It is easy for those Liberal Democrats of great wealth (who hide their monies offshore - ala Pelosie, Kennedy, etc.) to say that everyone should have everything and the people should pay for those behind them. Well, healthcare and college education are not constitutional guarantees, or did I miss something? Who is going to pay for those behind us to have tose things?

Chartiy begins at home and through chruches, synagoues, whatever them islam people call their place of worship church, etc.

But do not worry, Obama will fix it all; he's done a great job so far... hitting the links while America burns.

There were health care cost issues at the state level even before Obamacare. Here in Arizona the state budget has stabilized, but even with cutting back some access to state-funded healthcare, the annual cost of state-funded healthcare has skyrocketed in recent years. Obamacare has made it worse, by putting lots of new strings on the states getting federal dollars, reaching the feds' hands even further into the state till. The growth in healthcare costs here in Arizona sets up an ugly fight between healthcare advocates and the other big chunk of the state budget, education. The rest of the state budget just isn't big enough to absorb the reductions in funding resulting from higher healthcare costs.
