seriously though, let's agree that whether Bush had lapses in judgement that impaired his natural perfection, or is the devil (as countless bloggers like these are so fond of asserting from their mothers' basements), or somewhere in between, his name or reputation should never be offered as an excuse for others to perpetrate what passes as progressive governing these days.
"Well Bush was bad too" is exactly the sort of justification my five-year-old uses.

Bush sucks and Obama sucks...can we move on now?

Jesus there is other stuff going on beyond the "my guy is less corrupt than your guy" ****ing contest you guys have going on. All you guys are doing is having a more intellectual* version of the Tea Party vs. Looney Left fight we see every day. Congrats you all have a Thesaurus and access to Wikipedia...so does my 8 year old cousin :D

Politicians love this because it takes away from the little things they do to carve up the wealth and power a little bit more for themselves. Who cares if nothing is getting done when their is controversy to argue over! Bush got re-elected because of it, and Obama will too. Sad really.

Agreed completely. The empty rhetorical statement that started all this was "Obama is the most corrupt most worst most evil most oh god my pants are on fire I hate him so much in presidential history." That's a comparative. The refutation is no, he's not the most corrupt in presidential history, in fact he's not even the most corrupt in the last decade. That's not an expiation of Obama, it's calling BS on a silly declaration.

If you want an analysis of Obama's supposed corruption, present the evidence and we'll evaluate it. Knowing nothing tangible about it (the same as everyone else here), I get the impression he's somewhere near the middle of the political cleanliness scale from 10 (Grover Cleveland, famously clean) to 0 (Warren G. Harding, famously filthy). The last few presidents I'd rate:

2 - Nixon
8 - Ford (would have been a 9 except for the pardon)
8 - Carter
4 - Reagan
7 - Bush
3 - Clinton
1 - Junior

Oh I am not above the fray, but I will admit I was completely wrong when I voted for Obama and his presidency is a failure unlike the ones who worship him. You also dont see me spouting off conspiracy theories about how Bush was evil for X reason or Obama is a communist for Y reason. Ya know why...because it is all BS. Sometimes it is fun to get in BS arguments like that, I am confrontational it is in my nature. But you never saw me calling for Bush to be impeached or arrested on War Crimes despite my dislike for what he did in his second term.

I just think having whine wars over which president is more corrupt does more to hurt the populace than help it. That gets me in trouble on both sides of the aisle but that is just how I feel. That is me being honest. It is why I didnt vote in 2004, and probably wont vote in the next election unless the GOP finds a candidate worth a ****. (i.e. not Palin) It makes me sick to think that, but man alive not one of them seems to actually have a clue anymore.

Never said I hate him. Though I'm pretty sure I gave you numerous examples of outright corruption and cronyism, to which you responded with, "But Bush did it first!" I'll be the first guy in line to focus on what needs to be done to right the American ship. IMO, that can't be done until people realize that The One isn't the answer to our problems......he is a large part of the Problem, which is a complete lack of accountability/responsibility on the part of the majority of Americans.

A) This thread is filled with "empty rhetorical statements", which you pose on a regular basis.

...and B) - a "well educated man" such as yourself would have to concede that you cannot compare the Messiah's <24 months of transgressions against a CIC with 96 months of service - unless you grade it on a curve.

...and when graded on such a curve, your hero is headed for the record books.
