Re: Obama Presidential Thread XIX: Starting a new chapter

Right, of course not. I was a proud member (well, maybe not proud) of the Teamsters this past summer.

But at the same time, in pointing to a group of professors to validate whatever point you're trying to make, you've hardly picked a representative group, have you?

I didn't try to make a point. I just thought it was an amazing coincidence. Meanwhile all the board members on the right started posting about how liberal the professors are. And that becomes my point.

Re: Obama Presidential Thread XIX: Starting a new chapter

I didn't post any conclusions.

This is what you posted "Like I said in the other thread. It's so nice that the left can be explained away so easily and the right is so nuanced. It makes everything easier for everyone."

Yeah, that was a direct response to the conclusions posted by others. A valid one from what I can tell.

Liberal profs is hardly a new idea. That wasn't your experience in school?. Heck, I'd venture a guess that a majority of public high school teachers are liberal also

Isn't that exactly what typical lefties do to the right? Explain them away as racist/sexist/pick your favorite ist here while the lefties care about the people?

But professors are liberal. So I'm still missing your point I think. Bob was talking about how many people might not want to join unions because they disagree with their political stances. So you refuted that by posting a story about some college professors? That makes no sense.

I thought it was amazing. You and Bob don't because that's just what liberals do. I guess it also isn't amazing that there wasn't a union in place at this college already????? Cause now I'm really confused.

You think it's amazing that a bunch of likely liberal professors like a union and form one? You are easily amazed.

I never said that's just what liberals do. I said it is a utterly terrible example to use to refute Bob's point. I still can't see why you're amazed either.

I'm not sure why this is amazing either. If this group is as liberal as they say, maybe they wanted to make a political statement in support of the movement going on in WI right now. Because if unions lose their power there really isn't as much of a reason to join a union other then political reasons, right?

Re: Obama Presidential Thread XIX: Starting a new chapter

I guess Scooby just objects to letting each person choose whether they want to join a union or not.

Re: Obama Presidential Thread XIX: Starting a new chapter

Right, but if Milwaukee and other local and municipal entities around the state have shown a persistent inability to be able to say no, isn't it time for "the adults" to be in charge? If you can't manage your budget properly, the state gets to step in and do it for you.

Wait. "The adults"??? You mean the state legislature??? You can't be suggesting that the folks in charge of creating the state budget, the state budget that's been in the red for years and years, those guys, that they should also be in charge of the school budgets? Because they could fix them? Jesus ****ing Christ, you're either beyond stupid or a prime candidate for a career as a standup comedian.

Now that you've realized your desire to strip freedom from individuals, we just have to get you over your fixation on professors in La Crosse and we'll be making some real progress!

That's a good point. What about those 37 profs that voted against unionizing. Maybe they needed to run and hide in another state to be heard and have their rights upheld. :D

That's a good point. Why would WeWantMore want the State balancing school budgets if they can't balance their own. I wonder....................
