Number of NHL Draft picks on your team

Re: Number of NHL Draft picks on your team

Around 66% of 1st round draft picks play 200+ games in the NHL

Around 20% of 2nd round picks make play 200+ games in the NHL

Around 10% of 3rd round & higher picks play 200+ games in the NHL

obviously the new formula for figuring out the importance of each drafted player is dependent on their draft round, plus year in school, plus the number 7 because it's a good number. for example, to figure out how important a 1st rounder is compared to a 3rd rounder we just use this simple formula:

1st rounder = .66 x year x points last year x 7 x number of national championships x penalty minutes divided by game misconducts.

3rd rounder = .10 x year x points last year x 7 x number of national championships x penalty minutes divided by game misconducts x .3 for being 1/3 important as a 1st rounder.

so, now everyone figure out points for their school...

Divided by number of arrests by your players in the past year.

Makes you wonder how players like St Louis and Thomas did it..

St Louis was not drafted and goes on to win the Ross, Hart and Pearson...and Thomas goes on to win the Vezina as a 9th rounder.

Re: Number of NHL Draft picks on your team

Re: Number of NHL Draft picks on your team

Interesting how the numbers add up for the usual suspects:

So far we have:

Minnesota 90
Wisconsin 56
BU 55
BC 54
Michigan 54
DU 47
Mich. St. 26
Cornell 13
RPI 13

No one added up North Dakota's 15 yet.
Or the others 6 or 3 etc.

But we see a pattern of the usual NC contenders in this list. So it does have some merit.

SCSU has 7 drafted players for a total of 20 points:
Roe (7th Round) = 1 point
Hanowski (3rd Round) = 5 points
Oslund (7th Round) = 1 point
Marvin (3rd Round) = 5 points
Lauridsen (7th Round) = 1 point
Lee (3rd Round) = 5 points
Dunn (6th Round) = 2 points

UND has 15 for a total of 51 points

Our new results look like this:

Minnesota 90
Wisconsin 56
BU 55
BC 54
Michigan 54
UND 51
DU 47
Mich. St. 26
SCSU 20
Cornell 13
RPI 13

Minnesota's gap is staggering.

Re: Number of NHL Draft picks on your team

Back to regular season accomplishments and comparing yourself to the U when the vaunted Sioux fail to get #8?

Here's your halo.

you can keep your halo.... there is no comparing the goofs to the Sioux... anyone who can count to 7 will tell you that. My point was it would be interesting to see the amount of points the goofers had last year, considering they did a hell of a job of flushing their season down the toilet...but you know how they have that way of wasting tremendous amounts of talent.
