I'm curious as to why some of you UAA fans who didn't even see what happened just automatically assume that it was a dirty play by a dirty player. You guys are full of it and you continue to be the biggest whiners on this entire board.

It's like crying wolf, though. After nearly EVERY game, you and a few other UAA fans are complaining about the officiating. So maybe they sucked tonight, but with how often some of you complain about it, I (and many others) tend to not take you seriously. But your boys battled through it and won anyway tonight. Again, I think after what happened last night, that takes a ton of character.

I believe it was one fan who made that comment. I don't recall saying it, did I? Shyiak himself said tonight that he didn't think it was dirty or an intent to hurt. But Kane got a 5 and DQ for much less.

My beef was the rulebook was not followed. A CC player posted the kneeing rule. If a kneeing call is made and a player is hurt, the ref has NO choice but to call a DQ. That didn't happen, and the inconsistency of the refs in this league is very frustrating to me, as it is to many WCHA fans.

Did you happen to read the scores thread of the DU/UND game? Anybody who read that cannot say that UAA fans are the biggest whiners on this board, there was page after page of complaining about the refs.

See my earlier post for more detail. Civitarese's contact with the goalie was a clear penalty, and was called correctly. A seperate incident occurred, in which a UAA player and CC player were also going to the net. That play is what injured the goalie - but that was not a penalty.

I got it. Shyiak discussed the entire play by play before the game when discussing Bryces injury. His recollection was much different. I guess it all depends on who you ask.

If video is available for that game, I'd recommend taking a look. It was very clear, and maybe 20 feet away from me. The CC/UAA player on top of the goalie weren't cleared out until well after the penalty had been assessed to Civitarese.

It wasn't on GCI, and the sucky B2 didn't show it.

Sounded like the Alaska came out hungry. Listened to the game at work and it just seemed like Alaska was way more motivated.
Hopefully CC learns from this game and finds their zone for next weekend because it is going to be tough.

Just now home from the game. No way will this post be liked by all, but aside from that. This was the best college hockey game I have ever been to when my team lost. I thought CC played a very good game, but aside from that the rest of this post is about UAA.

UAA played 61 mintues of good ole fashioned hockey and deserved the win. The officials called the game fair and square, UAA simply went out there tonight and took the win by playing great hockey. Not a single time did I see UAA try and goon it up, they really proved me wrong and I just wish more UAA fans could have been in attendance to witness how well their team performed Saturday Night.

Superb defense all night by the Seawolves. My hat is off to the UAA players!! Great college hockey game!!

Best wishes against St. Cloud State.

Not sure why anyone wouldn't like that post, Lee.

We have a young, growing CC team who has so far exceeded our expectations. UAA sounds like they rebounded incredibly well tonight, and I think they deserve a ton of credit for realizing that last night was just one game, and they could still make this a successful trip to the Springs. So my hat's off to UAA for a nice, hard fought victory.
