Norwich vs SNC: Battle of Champions!!

Re: Norwich vs SNC: Battle of Champions!!

I would like to know how you can go to Texas but cannot afford to pay your debts. Just a simple gift card to Long Horn for $20 you get you off the hook.:rolleyes:

http://www.texaslandandcattle.com/files/home.aspx

The Texas Land and Cattle Steak House in Dalas was advertising 2 steak's for $25. on 99.5 Wolf Country Radio Station. However I am not going to Texas until the fall. Why cann't we see deals like that in the east.

http://www.saltlickbbq.com/

That is an easy one-The Saltlick BBQ which is about 10 miles outside of Austin, TX. If you go to Texas is a place not to be missed.

They don't even sell STEAK - they DO sell Brisket, Ribs, Sausage, sliced or chopped beef, heck even turkey or chicken - but NO steaks (I guess that might be why you like it so much).

CASH ONLY at Driftwood location - I wonder why...

Re: Norwich vs SNC: Battle of Champions!!

As much as I love to rag on the hawk because of his welching ways...

Can we please get this thread back onto hockey. Norwich and St. Norbert have developed quite the "postseason rivalry' over the past decade. SNC SID Dan Lukes even went as so far to mention in his game notes its the cloest the Green Knights have to a true rival right now considering all the meetings they have had lately with big time implications in the postseason.

Third straight meeting this year where one team will end the other's season and fourth in last five years. St. Norbert also beat Norwich 3-0 in 2008 in Lake Placid in the semifinals on their way to winning their first national championship.

2008 Semifinals (SNC 3-0)
2009 No meeting
2010 Championship (NU 2-1 2OT)
2011 Semifinals (SNC 3-2)
2012 Semifinals (????)

Gotta love it...Is it Norwich's turn this year?

The wager was about hockey - NORWICH Hockey at that - so it has always been about hockey or something equally important - CHEESE!!!!

Nobody is going to talk about the game because most fans consider this a toss up game and the stakes are so high. I am going to enjoy the weekend and let the best team win. Both teams have had suprising results both good and bad so it is almost impossible to figure how this one is going to turn out. It is going to take me until Friday to get thorough the very detailed St, Norbert's final four preview so there will be no more talk of food (steak).

Fixed your post.

Re: Norwich vs SNC: Battle of Champions!!

Would you like me to take over 2-3 lbs of Cabot or Grafton to show you what the best cheese is like? Seriously Grafton cheese which is made in a small town in Southern Vermont is the best I have had.

I would put Rodman, NY cheese up against both. Still made in the big wheel, covered with cheese cloth and sold under glass!

Re: Norwich vs SNC: Battle of Champions!!

If it's March, it's time to play SNC! Certainly fans are in for a quality game, it seems like it is always an edge of your seat battle. Looking forward to another weekend of hockey (and downtown LP as well!!).

Re: Norwich vs SNC: Battle of Champions!!

Back to the cheese, at the world championships a week or so ago, 30 of the 82 gold medals went to Wisconsin cheeses. That's the most of any individual state or country and more than the rest of the U.S. combined.

But you put orange food coloring in your cheddar.

Why do Packer fans wear hats that are replicas of Swiss Cheese? If your cheddar was that great, Cheeseheads would wear cheddar (and it would not be orange either :D)

+1 !!!!!

Re: Norwich vs SNC: Battle of Champions!!

Cheese, Cheese, Cheese. If you are going to talk cheese than lets go straight to the best cheese in the world... Danish Blue Cheese. By the way where was the cheese world championship located this year? Let me guess - Wisconsin

Jerry:

Unfortunately we will not be in LP this year as we are skiing in Banff. I suspect another great game and great weekend. Hopefully the players decide the game and the refs are not the story as they certainly have been suspect in the first two games for SNC. Can anyone assist on where I can pick up the game on my computer? Go SNC!

LOL... Skiing in Banff seems like an acceptable alternative, although I'd lean more towards a southern local myself!!

Still, sorry to miss you all this year, expecially since I didn't make it out west last year. I suspect we will meet in March again very soon!

As far as the webcast, hopefully that gets posted, although it may be in the NCAA site already?

from SNC website, also Derozier will have radio broadcast available also.

Oh, and for all the comments around "orange food color", it's called annatto, a natural plant extract used as a dye..............

A derivative of achiote seed, the slightly musky-flavored seed of the annatto tree.

The largest use of annatto is as a food coloring. Annatto appears in preserved meats, cheeses, sweets, and numerous other foods. It is safe for vegetarians, since it contains no animal products and is not processed with animal materials, and is also approved for religious diets.

Food dyes can sometimes cause allergic reactions. It can be difficult to pin down the source of the reaction, since so many dyes are added to processed foods. Children seem to be especially susceptible to additives like annatto. If allergic reactions cannot be linked with common allergens like wheat, dairy, or nuts, testing for sensitivity to food dyes may be a good idea.

Cheese, like the milk it comes from - should be WHITE - and the flavor should come from age (not some seed)!!!
