Norwich v. Middlebury

Re: Norwich v. Middlebury

Middlebury at their best will be in both games, however ab easy goal or two early will spell trouble for them. This year I think Norwich and Plattsburgh (to a lesser degree) are better than Middlebury, but at their best Middlebury can play and beat anyone, should be a couple of high energy games and a good showing could propel Middlebury to the NESCAC title

Fixed your post :D

Re: Norwich v. Middlebury

Well, I just got back from Norwich. They said they had tickets available for
the game. They had 20 at the most. I didn't get a ticket, I was the 6th
person in line. What a Joke! WDEV says they're selling tickets from 4-7. I
Don't think so.

Are you talking about the game at Middlebury on Friday? If so, there will be plenty at the door, no problem getting in. They are all general admission (no reserved seats) and they go on sale at 6:00 pm. Come a little early if you are really particular about where you want to sit.

Re: Norwich v. Middlebury

A wish some of us have had for quite a while. :(

You really think it will happen? On the upside Middlebury and Plattsburgh can then host the PrimeLink every other year Sort of like how the women's teams do in the Cardinal/Panther Classic.

Re: Norwich v. Middlebury

Around 1999-2001 there was talk about it. Kreitzberg was designed (with the connector completion in mind) to have an upper deck added later. Balcony seating for the middle 4 sections on each side, as well as standing room on the concourse. Next time you are in the arena, look up above the far end. You can see the outline of the doors connecting an upper level. It would have added 1000+ capacity. Doesn't really sound like a DIII plan, does it?

I do believe that they would not want to move all the other programs up, which creates problems. And then the economy went into a downturn.

Norwich will take its normal Prime Link rotation for the forseeable future.

Re: Norwich v. Middlebury

Can anyone tell me if the Norwich/Middlebury game is going to be available via computer and how to access it? Thanks.

Re: Norwich v. Middlebury

I depends on what the NESCAC does, if they break the interlock, like we are hearing that they will do, then Norwich must make a choice.

Re: Norwich v. Middlebury

Your prediction is right on. If the injured players don't return Norwich's luck could run out Friday night.

Then I highly suggest you guys rest you injured players this weekend...:)

Or even better yet... rest the guys on Friday, and bring em back on Saturday. Midd needs help from Norwich, Colby, and Bowdoin this weekend.:)

Seriously, though, whether your guys return or not I think THE game is too close to call. With Klingensmith's talent, and Middlebury's somewhat inconsistent ability to finish, goals may be hard to come up with for the Panthers. AND if MIDD doesn't find a way to stay out of the penalty box, it could be a long night for them. If I see referees Cross and/or Primm on the ice I may cry!

What about Tisi or St. Louis  Fortunately they don't work together.

Re: Norwich v. Middlebury

Is that decision to be made this year after the season ends or is it next year??

Sooner, rather than later, would be best for all concerned I think. I know it was a two year deal, so you would have to hope the interlock decision is after this season.

I have a hazy recollection that the decision on the future of the interlock was to be made after next season rather than this one although it would make more sense for the decision to be made before the agreement actually ends since both parties will have to radically redo their schedules if the interlock is ended . . . . .

Here's the thread pertaining to the expiration of the interlock. If what's said in there is true, there will be a vote amongst the members following this season, with the dis/continuation of the interlock starting next season.

EDIT: This article states that the 06-07 season was the 2nd of a 4-year agreement -- wouldn't it have ended after last season?

Thanks - I knew we had talked about it before but did not remember that the date for the decision was just around the corner . . I wonder if the decision has not effectively been made already since it will require so many changes for all the affected schools . .
