Norwich Hockey - Time to Regroup

Babson has generally shown up well for the conference championship games in the past. But yes agree, 15 seniors probably helped buoy that a bit more.

Agreed. I admittedly hadn’t been able to see a Babson game in a long time. But last night definitely felt like more than normal….I’m also getting old and forgetful though

Great game last night. A conference champiosnhip in year 1 of the Dawes era is something to be excited about. However the LEC... very Mickey Mouse conference. Are we even going to hang a banner for this?

The trophy presentations were brutal. Make the runner-up sit there the whole time for nothing. Couldn’t they at least get a stuffed animal like the Olympics?

The trophies as a whole definitely left plenty to be desired from what they gave out with the NEHC.

Still, glad Norwich is holding it, regardless of what it looked it.

The whole trophy ceremony was, well not even high school ish. It was worse. The wome’s was the same.
I know it’s a new league for hockey, but it was very underwhelming.

Pleasantly surprised (slightly) over how this team has progressed this year, adapting to a new coach and style of play.
The bracket setup for them allows for more optimism!

I'm not that surprised. And I'm totally ambivalent concerning Norwich. Dawes has a great track record. Sure, he didn't have time to bring in all his guys, but he obviously knows how to sell his system to anyone, not just his guys. And the LEC is not a super strong league, certainly not at the level of where they came from, the NEHC. Granted, I would not have predicted Norwich winning the LEC this year, but it doesn't surprise me they did well enough to have the chance, and then grab that chance, to do what they did.

I think we're pleasantly surprised because things got really bad over the past few years. It wasn't just the wins and losses and the product on the ice. The former coach was not a good fit and didn't care about community connections spanning decades.
