Norwich hockey 2012-2013: Our thread closed before Owsego's

Interesting to note that Dartmouth, according to the Burlington Free Press, is the only undefeated team in all of Div I, at this point in the early season. Does this mean anything?...Not yet.

It helps when they've played less games and are playing in the ECAC rather than the WCHA, CCHA or Hockey East.

But still cool none the less knowing that Norwich went toe to toe with the last remaining unbeaten D1 team.

I still think that Hockey East has a screwed up perspective of the role of athletics in higher education. I was sad to see UVM leave the academically responsible ECAC for the overemphasis league.

I always think of ECAC D1 hockey as one of the last bastions in major college athletics as a league that is able to balance the need for performance on the ice (field) with the fact that the team is representing a school, not a professional franchise. With schools like the Ivies, RPI, St. Lawrence, etc., the ECAC has a lot to be proud of.

Chris Czarnota gets the start in goal tonight for Norwich making it three different starters in three games for Coach Mike McShane's last line of defense.

Norwich and UNE set to drop of the puck at Kreitzberg!

I see Dartmouth took down the #8 team Union yesterday!

Yeah hopefully Dartmouth makes a trek to Kreitzberg eventually!

I wonder how that would fit with Ivy League scheduling restrictions - they are kind of like the NESCAC with their practice date and game scheduling regulations. It may be that an off-campus game might be regarded differently than a game that was played on campus.

In case you've lost track of him...

Keith Aucoin is still playing...He's played in 10 AHL gams so far with his new club the Toronto Marlies and surprise surprise he leads the club in assists (10) and points (11).

Good to see Keith still performing at a high level!
