Re: Norwich Cadets Hockey 2011-2012: In Search of a Title

I would think that the school would throw a bone to the season ticket holders and let them in gratus. I would expect that there will be a lot of empty seats for this exhibition game. Sad....

I'll still be there. I not going to not go. It's not the players' fault. They still deserve our support. I just wish it had been handled differently.

You are allowed one against a Canadian team - any more and it counts against the 25 game limit

Re: Norwich Cadets Hockey 2011-2012: In Search of a Title

To play devil's advocate here, some fans might be annoyed to be forced into buying a ticket to an exhibition game. It's a no win situation unless they could have been creative about it.

I wasn't going to say anything about the extra $5.00 but agree with my fellow posters that Norwich should of included the game in the season ticket package. However I am loosing any sleep over the extra money.

I have no doubt they'll be there in the end. They are classy team with a great coach. Lot of respect for babson and their program. Testa is solid. Donato is a playmaker. Heavey is good. They've definitely got talent. Is Hoban still around?

Yes, Hoban is back as is Smith, O'Neil up front along with those you mentioned. You are correct on Testa, he can steal a game on any given night!

I'm a believer. Last year's Norwich/Babson games were two of the best games I saw all year.

Can't wait for the meetings this season!

Any updates on the Dartmouth game?

The main issue I have had going to Dartmouth Hockey games is parking and I have enclosed a link which discusses the parking options. I generally park on the street around the rink but if you come late most of the close spaces are gone. Hanover in general has a big parking problem and many Dartmouth parking lots are restricted for visitors.

Get there early. Sunday parking is a little easier. Get there early. It's the way it always has been down there. Hanover lives on revenue from their parking meters, and that's the way it has always been. Used to be (back in the 70s that you could avoid buying a parking sticker for the Dartmouth lots if you would get to school early and park on frat row. That ended when the Hanover police caught on and the put parking meters with two hour limits on frat row. Other neighborhoods require residents stickers - not so much for the convenience of the residents, but to drive the visitors to the paid parking lots. Some things haven't changed in 40 years. This is not a new phenomenon

It's a long enough drive from albany as it is... now you're telling me I need to get there early??? :(

Re: Norwich Cadets Hockey 2011-2012: In Search of a Title

Define "early"?

Are we talking Cadet Crosby early (where we beat the team to the rink? ;)) or are we talking one hour before game time?

Re: Norwich Cadets Hockey 2011-2012: In Search of a Title

More parking info. I just called Dartmouth College Security and they reported that this is homecoming weekend at Dartmouth so parking could be an issue. Security told me to try and find a space around the rink on the street; if unsuccessful follow sign to Dewey Lot where a shuttle will bring you back to rink.

Security office phone number-603-646-4000 if you want more info.
