Re: Norwich Cadets Hockey 2011-2012: In Search of a Title

More parking info. I just called Dartmouth College Security and they reported that this is homecoming weekend at Dartmouth so parking could be an issue. Security told me to try and find a space around the rink on the street; if unsuccessful follow sign to Dewey Lot where a shuttle will bring you back to rink.

Security office phone number-6023-646-4000 if you want more info.

Good info Hawk. Thanks.

Define "early"?

Are we talking Cadet Crosby early (where we beat the team to the rink? ) or are we talking one hour before game time?

If you get there an hour and a half or maybe two hours ahead you should be okay. As for homecoming, most of them are going to be heading out to return home fairly early in the afternoon. Some may want to stay and watch the game. I don't know what else is going on Sunday afternoon to keep the old guys around. I have made my decision - Let's go Wick! See Prez, eventually paycheck beats history. When my daughter went to SLU and DC played SLU, I had to root for the tuition payments ahead of history then, too.

Maybe so...but for now...

Elmira, Oswego, Norwich .... always ;)

I've seen the boys skate and they look pretty good. Going to be a lot of competition for spots this year after the two big holes left in the top six and then guys jockeying for position on the third and fourth lines as well as having 10 D battling for 6 spots.

We'll start to get a good look the next two Sundays on where we're at with two of the toughest, if not the toughest teams we will play all season.

Norwich senior captain Shawn Baker is on the cover of the Fall 2011 edition of NCAA champion magazine.

Click the following link to get to the magazine and you can see the cover and then flip to the middle to find the story about Shawn's talents on the ice as well as his role in the community as a volunteer firefighter in the Northfield Fire Department.

Amazing story and pictures.

Prez great preview of the Norwich Hockey Team heading into the 2011/2012 season. Sounds like there are still some unanswered questions, some of which should be answered on Sunday. Will be interesting to see if Doug Lindensmith can be productive in D3 after puting up big numbers in the SJHL. The goalie who played for the Slovenian Under-20 team, Chris Czarnota should be one to watch if he plays on Sunday too.

Norwich with an impressive 3-0 win over Trois Rivieres this afternoon at Kreitzberg Arena.

Kyle Thomas, Doug Lindensmith, and Pier-Olivier Cotnoir with the goals for the Cadets.

Nice opener at Kreitzberg especially the CANNON! BOOM. Congrats Prez for getting the cannon in the building (could even stand to be a little louder but maybe that is just the sound system). Great show on the ice today by all, freshman included. Gotta tell Commo not to call #17 "little Nevin Lawler", makes him sound too young to play college hockey and he definately can play! Nice work by Carroll, he was solid as was the defense for the most part. Few errors that will shake out with time playing together, I think. Way to win Wick!

Re: Norwich Cadets Hockey 2011-2012: In Search of a Title

Just got home from Kreitzberg. The team looked really good this afternoon. I was impressed with Kyle Thomas speed. Boy can he manuever.

Re: Norwich Cadets Hockey 2011-2012: In Search of a Title

Kyle Thomas had another outstanding game against Thois-Rivieres scoring one goal and generating an assist (NO. 1 star). Interesting to see that two D1's teams had problems keeping Kyle under wraps. The smallest player on the ice, Nevin Lawler, agressive play was very impressive.

You can't teach speed and Kyle certainly has that.

If the D-I Frozen Four skills challenge is brought back, I'd really like to see Kyle go to that next year because I think he'd have to have a great shot at winning it just like Musselwhite did for Oswego against the D-I guys a few years back. Musselwhite smoked them too if I remember correctly.

yes Musselwhite did, I believe he set the all-time record in the skate, and he placed 2nd that day in the fastest shot..ps I watch a few games at the CC with him playing, he was 2 steps faster than all...

You're right ... Don't want to get him upset at me ... looks like he could take my head off!
