Re: Norwich Cadets Hockey 2010-2011: Title defense time.

Ohio State Football revenues exceed $68MM....they spend $32MM - most in NCAA....that can alter one's perspective, I guess....

Except for Dartmouth Hockey and Football (which really isn't DI), I have little interest in DI sports.

Just a quick note before heading south for a couple of weeks. Best of luck to the Cadets in the Final Four. You have a great team and very supportive fans. Last weekend showed this. Your fans are some of the best in D3 hockey. Sorry about all the negative discussion but it was never criticism of your team or directed at them only the officials. It is a done deal and behind us now , so Ill be cheering for you in sunny Florida. Good Luck!

Re: Norwich Cadets Hockey 2010-2011: Title defense time.

Congratulations to the Norwich Lady Cadets for their 5-2 win over RIT. The play-off experience from the last two years certainly gave them the confidence to go into the RIT barn (smaller sheet of ice 85x185, same size as Plattsburgh) and walk away with the Championship Trophy. I was surprised how quickly one of the players acquired the trophy and skated down to the celebration pile. The game was only over may be 20 seconds or so.

Maybe Norwich should fly the Pajama Girls and their NCAA Trophy out to Ridder to cheer on the Men’s team. The girls could sit behind the St. Norbert bench and see if they can distract SNC the way they did Bowden during the third period.

Re: Norwich Cadets Hockey 2010-2011: Title defense time.

Derek did a nice job working color for the Women’s DIII games @ the Ritter. I’m assuming John will be working with George this weekend @ the Ridder for the Men’s tournament. John has earned the right to go out West and should be there. Derek certainly could fill in if need be. It sure would be an interesting commentary if Oz & Wick ended up in the finals.:D:D

Congrats to women. As witht he men last year, the trophy goes right to the team at least inpart because it appears in most of the photos of the immediate celebration.

Re: Norwich Cadets Hockey 2010-2011: Title defense time.

Kinda reminded me a lot of THIS but it was just missing RIT being undefeated. Bad night in RaChaCha....the men lost 0-1 to Air Force....they might want to stay away from the military schools in the playoffs. Congrats ladies.

Two weeks was perfect for me!!! Got to see the
Mens quarterfinal since the Norwich women got the bye and then got to experience last nights national championship win for the women. Outstanding effort by the cadets and a first rate crowd and hosting job by rit. You would have never got 1400 any other place IMHO. We're on the bus back now. For any Norwich fans looking to meet up with us we will be getting in around 6:30 7pm tonight to Kreitzberg. Come out and welcome the national champions home! Now I get to get on a plane to minny wednesday. Unreal two weeks. Words couldn't describe the feeling last nite sitting there and watching it all unfold.

I texted Charlie after the game saying I may be purple and gold at heart but tonight I bleed maroon and gold!!!!!! Way to go cadets

Re: Norwich Cadets Hockey 2010-2011: Title defense time.

Come on guys we can close this thread down. We're into the 930s :D.

What a season for the women's team!

Now let's make it a double.

First we need to beat SNC - no easy task, but it looks a whole lot better than it did after the end of the Primelink. This team has shown a lot of growth, and the thing that I have been most impressed with is the way they have played defense. The offense is what everybody notices, but the defense is just pushing everything to the perimeters, and when they don't Carroll has been taking care of business. The toughest thing for Carroll behind that defense is that most of the shots he has to handle have been high quality shots.

From Prez, "I texted Charlie after the game saying I may be purple and gold at heart but tonight I bleed maroon and gold!!!!!! Way to go cadets".

I get Charlie's Corners emails and noticed he is sending them from Dartmouth Hitchcock Med Center. So sorry he is in the hospital. Can we get an update as to why he is in? Have they found a donor? I certainly hope that is the case. (Sorry if this has been addressed elsewhere, I have been out of town visiting my 90 year old Dad in the hospital). Even though I have never met Charlie, his battle and courage has touched my heart and I wish him a speedy recovery. I hope he gets a big screen tv with coverage of the games next weekend, if he is unable to see the games in person! He is in my thoughts and prayers. Go Cadet Crosby!:)
