This really sucks...able to watch the Cadets for free all season long at home games and now have to pay so the ECAC can make $$$ ?? I'll gladly listen to the WDEV webcast for free......:p

Re: Norwich Cadets Hockey 2010-2011: Title defense time.

Well Charlie, I'm on a fixed income and what with the rises in energy, food, medical, tax, and utilities costs, I'm having to decide whether I want to watch the games or make donations to the school. The folks in Jackman prefer the latter...:D

It's a real bummer, but understandable and expected. Just means I'll watch only the NU men instead of parking my butt in front of the web-enabled TV for 6 games this weekend. My wife will be thankful.

If the Norwich/Manhattanville women meet in the ECAC East final on Sunday. I highly suggest splurging on that game as it could be the best game played at Kreitzberg ALL WEEKEND.

Re: Norwich Cadets Hockey 2010-2011: Title defense time.

PuckVoice I was just wondering if you did any interviews with Norwich Coach Mike McShane and Castleton coach Alex Todd about the weekend games. I could not find the links on the Vermont Sports Network.

Both Norwich and Castleton face very good teams in the semi-finals but if both teams are fortunate to win the next battle of Vermont would be the game of the year for the fans.

Prez your ECAC E Preview was first rate in my opinion. Great job. However don't you believe that a potential Norwich/Castleton in state matchup would be game to watch this weekend unstead of a potential matchup of the Norwich/Manhattanville women's hockey team.

Yeah, that'll def be a good game if it happens -- unfortunately i have my own game at that time, i believe, but i should be able to listen to the first period or so.

I'm definitely with Prez on the Norwich/Manhattanville Women's game being the potential game of the weekend. If it doesn't happen, absolutely the big game will be the Battle for Vermont, Part Trois. But if that game does happen... It won't be as hard-hitting (obviously), but it will definitely be the fastest, most entertaining, and most evenly matched game of the weekend at Kreitzberg.

This.

The Norwich/Manhattanville women's rivalry is quickly getting as intense as it can get on the women's side. You should have seen the game here played on the final weekend of the regular season. There was a ceremonial faceoff before the game and the Manhattanville captain won the draw against Sophie. Let's just say that set the tone for the game right then and there. :)

Re: Norwich Cadets Hockey 2010-2011: Title defense time.

Seated tickets for tonight's championship game are going on sale today at the Kreitzberg ticket office at 11am. With the elimination of Castleton there are some seats for sale.:)

Maybe some more Middlebury fans will scoop up those tickets.

Saw about 3 or 4 Middlebury hats and jackets yesterday at Kreitzberg :)

Prez maybe you can talk them into recruiting a few recruits from the US and Canadian Junior leagues like the rest of the NESCAC's and Ivy league does. I got to believe that there a lot of Canadian Junior players with the grades to get into Middlebury.

Re: Norwich Cadets Hockey 2010-2011: Title defense time.

I was very happy with the outcome of tonights game against Babson. Athough slow at times, the game was clean, (something I figured would not of happened if CSC won on Friday Night). Kyle Thomas deserved the MVP of the game.

Re: Norwich Cadets Hockey 2010-2011: Title defense time.

It is now Wednesday March 9, 2011. This thread has been quiet for nearly three days. Although other threads are discussing tonights game against Curry, it appears Curry has some new talent. I'm going to try to make tonights game but have a board meeting in Winooski that may prevent it. Good luck to our team.

Re: Norwich Cadets Hockey 2010-2011: Title defense time.

I'm a Brown fan who tagged along with my friend, who is a Curry alum, to the Norwich/Curry game.

First of all, I want to say that I left the arena very impressed with almost every facet of the experience. The arena was great with excellent sightlines, the fans were devoted and into the game (much more so than Brown's fans, which is sad to say given that we participated in the first-ever game of college hockey), and the play itself was of good quality. Norwich could skate with quite a few D-I teams, and, I don't think it's a stretch to say, would be a solid, middle-of-the-road Atlantic Hockey team. Curry was not a bad squad by any means, but they were simply overwhelmed by the quality of Norwich.

But back to the arena: I thought the food was great, the price was unbeatable for an NCAA tournament game, and the atmosphere as a whole was fun and enjoyable, even as someone who was sort of pulling for the men in purple. The student section seemed to rattle the Curry goalie early and often, and I don't think many of the players were used to playing in what was essentially a D-I, Hockey East-type atmosphere.

Once again, I left Norwich very impressed, and I wish you good luck as you search for your second title in a row!
