was wondering the status of chris duzinski for the rest of the season.

Re: Norwich Cadets Hockey 2010-2011: Title defense time.

day to day.

Prez do you think the 4:00PM start time for Norwich vs Southern Maine Friday is an advantage or disadvantage? On one hand visiting teams seem to always play well before the big crowds you would get for a 7:00PM game, but if Norwich wins they get a couple of more hours rest. Be interested to hear if the fans would prefer a 4 or 7:00PM start. Something I noticed about Southern Maine goalie Braely Torris is his excellent stats, although only 7-10-5 his GAA is 2.9388 and SV% of .918.

I wouldnt call those stats excellent. They are slightly above average at best. That being said, I think Torris is a solid goaltender and was impressed with his play in the team's first meeting this year. But calling a 2.94 GGA excellent is just assinine.

My opinion on a 4 p.m. or 7 p.m. Friday game time is irrelevant. Coach McShane wanted the 4 p.m. game and that's what is happening. Call him up and ask him. His extension is on the Norwich athletics website.

Hey Prez ... Torris's 2.94 goals against may or may not be excellent ...but his 60 saves against UMB are just plain scary. That number should have everyone's attention.

As to the start time ... 4:00 may not seem as fan friendly as 7:00 ... but if it helps assure success on Saturday night then what can be more fan friendly than that?
Come on Hawk ... real fans should be able to come up with a creative way of getting out of work early!

Keep thinking his stats are average. It's pretty impressive when you can keep a .918 while having a 2.94. Ask any goalie.

It means he's facing an average of 36 shots per game.

At this point in the season, every goalie is a threat. Norwich fans should never forget what happened in 2009. I feel good about the way this season has sugared down. A lot of learning early in the season, but since January things have been right on track.

Norwich's defense has been really a shut down defense lately.

SOG - Castleton 20, Skidmore 20, Conn College 11, Tufts 16, UNE 7

That speaks volumes for what the defense has done.

George in an interview you did with coach Mike McShane before the last game didn't he say the reason that hockey was different was because one player (goalie) could determine the outcome of the game almost by himself. The reason I have referenced goalie's is because all the teams Norwich could play in the ECAC E tournament all have outstanding goalie's. Shots on goal were 61-23 in favor of UMASS-Boston in the last SM game. As a Norwich fan I am concerned Torris could have another outstanding game.

Did you miss the part where you said I was impressed with him and thought he was solid from the game earlier this year.

Any goalie can get hot this time of year and stand on his head. It's the playoffs.

Torris can be that goalie. But to call a 2.94 goals against average "excellent" IMHO is just assinine.

Prez, I have a question for you - which was prompted by looking back at the box scores. There is frequently a disparity between the official shot count and the scoreboard shot count. Why can't the official shot counter be given a clicker to count the shots so that the official count would be up on the scoreboard?

One of those things I've always wondered.

Re: Norwich Cadets Hockey 2010-2011: Title defense time.

Prez I wasn't saying it was above average . I understand that. I was just saying hi!!!! LOL. By the way the shots were not 61-23 by official count by USM's stats staff. The were 47-32. Never believe the shots on the scoreboard or sometimes even the shots some teams put on collegehockeystats. It's all subjective : it shouldn't be but it is.

This is something we're working on addressing soon :)

I've noticed this a lot more this season.

Re: Norwich Cadets Hockey 2010-2011: Title defense time.

Hey Prez, I went online to get tickets for this weekends games but they only list tickets as standing room/general admission. How does the seating work at Norwich, are you assigned to a particular seat or is all the seating general admission? Thanks

Womens is all general admission, mens' (separate ticket) is both seating and general admission. All seats may have been sold though, and all that is left is standing room.

I purchased my tickests for the Men's championship game on line on Monday of this week. There were very few seats available at that time. I would suspect all of the seat tickets have been taken
