Norwich Cadets Hockey 2010-2011: Title defense time.

Re: Norwich Cadets Hockey 2010-2011: Title defense time.

I need some information/insight from the Norwich people in the "Know". Unfortunately, I didn't get advanced tickets to the game last night and was quite bummed about missing the Middlebury game. It's my own fault, I kept believeing that "we have never turned anyone away" myth. While I enjoyed the game in the comfort of my own home, I would rather have been an active participant in the crowd. So...

1. How do you get on the list for season ticket holders?
2. Will they ever again be selling season home game packages in advance like they did years ago? (Not including playoffs, etc)
3.Why is it that when you go to buy tickets at Norwich online, the best sections5,6,7...mid ice on both sides. always have only 1 or 2 seats available and not even together? I have gone to every game this season (as in the past 10 seasons) and see empty seats in the sections that were bloced off online. Wouldn't it makes sense to sell these seats on line instead of leaving them available for "at the door purchases"?
4. NUProf mentioned yesterday that there were standing room only season tickets? Ugh, I'd rather have a seat but it could be beneficial for games like Mid.

Thanks in advance for any info you can give, or your ability to make suggestions to the Powers of Wick.

Yipes! The Times-Argus says that the Williams game is at 3:00 today but the NU schedule AND the Williams schedule says 4:00. It's 4:00, right?

Re: Norwich Cadets Hockey 2010-2011: Title defense time.

The reason for there not being seats in the those sections that you listed is that almost all of them are season ticket holders that have held those seats for many years. Many of them are alumni that sometimes don't make it to the games and give their tickets to their friends and family. Also some people have the seats but they will stand up on the rail above, therefore they use their tickets to get into the game but either sit somewhere else or stand at the rail above. As always the seats in the student section are always used for the students when school is in session. The game last night was definetely full of excitement -- you where always sitting on the edge of your seat, waiting for the next great play to come about. Both teams do play different styles of hockey, but are always up for this game as the upperclassman always stress to the new guys of this rivalry. GO NORWICH -- GREAT GAME!!

Re: Norwich Cadets Hockey 2010-2011: Title defense time.

I was glad to see the Cadets take the Williams game this afternoon. I hope that the Team takes the next four games with the intensity that they played with this weekend.

Re: Norwich Cadets Hockey 2010-2011: Title defense time.

Great speed and pressure by the cadets today against Williams, like RAWard, hope they continue that type of play till the season ends (hopefully out west):)

Anybody else note that in the ECAC-E, we are now ahead of Castleton instead of tied? Is this a USCHO mistake or have they not credited Castleton win today against UNE?

Just checked and Castleton is ahead of Norwich. At this point they own the tie breaker, more wins. Both teams have the same number of points and have not played each other in league play yet so most wins is the tie breaker.

I think they just do it alphabetically. C before N.

Nice way of quoting "a former NU professor" about the interlock :) on the radio. (I had my headphones today because my wife stayed home)

NU PROf, I thought it was the other way around that you wore your headsets when your wife was with you.:D:D:D Todays game was fun to watch as the cadets where just winning all the battles on the wall and cycling really good.I noticed that Igor was moved back to defence in the 3rd period, hopefully no one was hurt on ( D ) early on in the game.Onto Rutland for Fridays game.

Igor was on D all the way, you must not have noticed before --- although he was coming forward a lot in the first two periods.

So i got to thinking during last night's game about a nickname for Kyle Thomas.

I know the students call him KT but that's not really an announcer friendly name.

Nikita Kashirsky was called the Moscow Magician. (Great name BTW, whoever came up with that.)

How about the Waltham Wizard for Kyle?

Waltham Wizard Works :D

Not sure about naming him just yet, but if thats the approach you are taking, "Wizard of Waltham" sounds better.

Keith and Kurtis had just their first names, and that was enough for them. Kyle may get to their level, but he is not yet.

As the guy who came up with the Moscow Magician (thanks, I liked it too) I haven't really thought about a nickname for Kyle ... frankly, in the tradition of Keith and Kurtis, Kyle works just fine for me!

Re: Norwich Cadets Hockey 2010-2011: Title defense time.

Hey Norwich fans ... what the heck is going on? Castleton gives us 100 tickets to sell for the game and we have 40 left????
What is with that? It's not like the game is at Oswego or something ... it's in Rutland! Norwich's reputation for having the best traveling fans in D-3 Hockey is in serious jeopardy here! Maybe NU should just load 40 Cadets on a bus and send them over!
All I know is if we have to return even ONE ticket unsold to Castleton ... that will be an embarrassment!
